Title: Looking for the fastest way, writing down ring buffer to SD-Card
Post by: Fritze on May 28, 2018, 01:42:03 PM
Hello,

within the next days I assume that my camera arrives. I think about buying an SD-Card (fastest option? writespeed up to 240 MB/s).
What is the fastest way to get the data (about 8 GB) from the ring buffer to a non-volatile memory?

Does has a very fast SD-Card any effect?

Kind regards

Fritze

Hi Fritze! The fastest way to get data from the ring buffer to NVM is to grab the latest beta, set it to auto-save after recording if you want all the recorded data, and use a class 10 SD card or faster to save mp4-encoded video. Saving is bottlenecked by CPU RAM access speed at the moment, so there's not a lot we can do to work around it right now. You should see save speeds around 60fps for full resolution video, if I recall correctly. :)

All the best,
