Title: What Zoom or Macro Lens is best for this Camera?
Post by: dominoguru2 on July 06, 2018, 10:25:15 AM
I want to create videos similar to

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BIEBn-Uu6I

I bought this lens with the camera however it doesn't do macro or zoom like the sample video

BrandComputar

Computar 12.5-75mm f/1.2 zoom lens

Also, when you recommend a Macro lens, let me know if I need to buy an adapter or a link for the adapter as I am new to this camera stuff.

Try adding in one or more of the CS- to C-Mount-Adapter Rings between your Lens and the Camera. Should make the Lens a Macro Lens.
You could buy those in the Krontech Store or on ebay and Co. for little money.
Also use A LOT of Light and try closing down your iris a bit if possible or you will only have a realy Little Area of your Object in Focus.

Hi. This guy also used an additional cs-c mount adapter and the result is what I want.

I'm also using computer 12.5-75/f1.2 and two cs-c mount adapter as you suggested, but I find it impossible to focus no matter how far or how close the camera is. Do I need to do some other adjustments? Thanks!

Problem with "Macro rings" is that, the depth of field or what is in focus is really small. Computer 12.5-75/f1.2 lens from the go have really tiny depth of field, stacking more cs-c adapters makes it shallow like caliper of paper. Additionally "macro rings" reduces light intensity of lens - f1.2 is no longer f1.2, but something lower.

For filming with confined space, or macro to be done, I'm using noname lens 2.8-12mm f/1.4 zoom, it is available in Krontech store.
It's focusing from 0mm! Yes you can focus on your fingerprint that is on front lens  :o

I'm using it only on 12mm side. If you're not scared of little light dropout on corners at full resolution it's great lens.

Some test films made with 2.8-12mm f/1.4 zoom:

And it's CS mount lens, you have to use it without 5mm CS-C adapter, or you will have -∞ mm focusing depth, and black hole will emerge ;)

Best Regards,
Marcin

I use a Samyang 35mm 1:1.4 lens with a Canon Adapter. I like it, it's super easy to handle and the camera looks was beefier with it :'D

I took this video with it for example...

... Okay I should say, that every video on my channel (except some of the first ones) where taken with this lens in ;)

You can see here that the focus plane is just about 3 mm or so. In my eyes that's the beggist challange in filming with a macro lens.... Stay in focus
