Chronos User Discussion / Re: Chronos 1.4 screen upgrade?

Also considering a better res for the display (something along at least 1280x720) would be great.

Software Dev / Re: Software V0.3 Beta - Updated Jan 4 2018
« on: February 23, 2018, 10:49:36 AM »
Hi there,

I have camera number 4 and can't get the ethernet bridge on usb to work. The interface shows up on my computer but no dhcp offer on it and no arp reply from 192.168.12.1.

I saw cams # <50 may present a problem. I have updated to 0.2.5 from Jan 4.

Do I have to tweak something by hand on the software card ? Alternately, may I manually configure eth0 from that same card ?

Thanks in advance.

Software Dev / NTH: Record Button action
« on: August 03, 2017, 07:40:22 AM »
Hi there,

After playing a bit with the camera for bow analysis, I think there should be two more Nice to Have:

1) A "I know what i do, let me shoot my feets" option to forbid the "You have not saved the record, do you want to record anyway" panel that requires a "OK": Very uneasy to see and to act upon when your two hands are busy carrying the camera in uncomfortable position (let alone when you can't see the screen). With that option, recording should proceed without question.

2) Two different actions to start and stop recording (Long-press to start, short to stop or record while pressed, stop at release, or record on jogwheel press, stop on record button, etc...)... under sunny, hot and stressful situation, it happens you are not able to remember or easily view if recording is on or off and if you will kill or miss the recording. Having two actions makes sure that redundant start or stop will have the proper result (keeping on or stopping).

PS: I second the idea of using the jogwheel to set the exposure time.

Thanks.

True RAW saving isn't supported yet, but that's coming soon. The main barrier is slow CPU access to the uncompressed video, the fast video pipeline is H264 encoder only at the moment.

BTW, the integrated H264 encoder does an impressive job in term of speed and ratio. Reprocessing file via ffmpeg on a fast quad-core machine is way slower and does not bring much improvement in term of space. Well done guys.

Software Dev / NTH: Coherent "Close" button for the Keyboard
« on: June 01, 2017, 06:49:13 AM »
Close/Return buttons are all on the bottom/right of panels.

The Keyboard have a "close" button lost into the frame. It would be nice to have it bottom/right.

Thanks.

Software Dev / Suggestion: Playback navigation
« on: June 01, 2017, 06:46:44 AM »
Suggestion for better playback navigation:

- Allow tapping somewhere in the buffer bar to jump (move the cursor "here" instead of being forced to fetch and drag it)
- more height for the right/left playback button with three zones on each button for image/image, selected playback rate or "1 second" (so depending on frame rate) (from top/middle/bottom of button or three 25/50/25% ratio stacked buttons, for instance).

Thanks.

Software Dev / NTH: Better ON/OFF feedback
« on: June 01, 2017, 06:18:06 AM »
Nice to have:

- Longer press on I/O button to turn ON (just accidentally hitting it turns the camera ON)
- Feedback when I/O button when ON telling the user the Camera is shutting down (Right now, you long-press the I/O and then nothing tell you it is turning off before a few seconds)

BTW, the boot time is quiet good. I was fearing a 20/30 seconds but it is very reasonable. Good job.

Thanks.

Software Dev / Suggestion: Reverse direction of buffer bar
« on: June 01, 2017, 06:12:31 AM »
Hello there.

After some testing, I'am feeling a but unnatural to have the buffer bar "up" as past (play panel).

May I suggest you offer a scrolling bar with top = past = beginning of buffer and bottom = futur = end of buffer so that direction of time is  from top to bottom. Please note that left/right play button are correct and jog wheel is also correct.

Thanks.
