Any time frame on enabling the audio trigger for things like gun shots etc?

It did some new stuff with up to 40.000 fps. What a shame that there's no 100.000 fps option anymore :(

By the way: I don't know why (maybe the new software?) but the image quality looks like it suffered a lot in comparison with my older videos.
at 20.000 fps I got again some strange maze like artifacts :( I don't know why this happens...

Look at around 5:30 ... it looks like there's a veil in front of the picture and the object just rarely shines through.

Is that a speed booster that you install first on the cam or just a lens adapter?

Did you try a hard power down? I had the same thing happen when I updated the firmware. Power down holding the button for 4 seconds or longer then power up.

Since nobody answered this, itís in the current .4 Voyager release.

The shutter speed can be set regardless but the issue is the amount of light required. David said figure 7 Lux per FPS. I presume thatís at 360 deg shutter so even way more light at higher shutter speeds. As long as the file remains on github, you can use it. Download it now and save it in anticipation of getting a camera. Iíll check and confirm tomorrow.

The idea is to adjust your back-focus correctly for your lens and not have to bother it. Then use spacers to get the depth of focus you need for a particular shot.

I've got one of the Stedi-Stocks that I use for a thermal camera. It would probably work well for wildlife work, be easy to home brew one as well.

Wanted to chime in and keep the info in one thread. I bought a couple of the StratusLED V2 units with the parabolic reflectors. Made a quick measurement with a no name light meter for a general idea: @1M 60,000 Lux, @2M 17,000 Lux, @3M 7000 Lux, @4M 4000 Lux, I rounded down. Didnít have a second connector to wire them both up. Going to work on a simple housing and mount idea next.

And per another thread, David said to figure on 7 Lux per FPS as a rough calculation. Iím a little curious as to the relationship to shutter speed as well.

Looks like there is some good general photography  knowledge for noobs like myself.

Crossbow bolt @ 9000 and 14100 fps

Are you recording in H264 or CinemaDNG?

This was a big help to me for working close up. As a test I just unthreaded the lens a bit to get focus at the distance I needed. Since I have at my disposal a fiber laser I plan to cut out some brass .5mm spacers. My question is would there be any interest here from others wanting some and if so would C size spacers be preferred for between the lens and adapter or spacers to go between the C-CS adapter & camera or both?

Could you update the link in this thread for Patch 2?  I installed the update and found I lost the Zebra function and had to go digging to find a post for patch 2 that fixed it. It would make it easier for others looking for the latest update.

Stupid question: Can you keep various versions each on their own uSD card and just swap them around? For example to use the 40k FPS mode in version V0.3.2 then swap the card for V0.4.0 to try the various new features?
Yes, this is possible, just like swapping SD cards in a Raspberry Pi ;D

I've done this but had issues saving to an SD card that had older footage from version 0.3.2 on it. After I tried the new software version and had issues I reinserted the old card, but I couldn't save to the SD storage card. It would tell me "file already exists, rename and try again" when I tried to save. Removing the SD card with the old video files on it and replacing with a blank USB key solved the problem.

I was referring to swapping the firmware SD card. But even then, having a file storage SD card formatted by each firmware version and marked as such and swapped when the firmware SD card is swapped wouldnít be a big deal. That said, if there are firmware version/hardware limitations for example having network capable firmware results in sacrificing speed or some other feature it would be advantageous to have multiple firmware versions so if you need a specific feature you swap in the version with that feature while giving up another. Speed for networking, or whatever. It would allow the user to taylor the application as needed and add versatility to the hardware. And simplify things too by keeping menus simple and not trying to cram everything into one all encompassing version.

Unfortunately, we have decided to remove the 100kpfs feature because of the artifacts at high framerates (around 50kpfs or higher). Starting in the next update, it will no longer be available for the 1.4 or 2.1. The max framerate will be back to 40kpfs for the Chronos 1.4, and 24kpfs for the Chronos 2.1.

Couldnít it be left in place as an experimental firmware version with appropriate caveats? I can understand not shipping new production units it. But it would be cool to experiment with something on the fringes especially if itís just a matter of swapping the uSD card and rebooting.
