Hey DDR,

Great to hear you guys are close, we're a month further and sorry to bother again but we have a deadline for an expensive project where we really need this feature (we don't want to open the camera and solder a switch to the pcb, I think it kinda voids the warranty)  ;D

Hey DDR,

Will 0.3.x ever see the light of day?
Originally planned to be released mid-september... but 0.3.1 got released in November instead of late-August and with the idea 0.4.0 will be released in January.
It looks like either 0.3.1 will be skipped or January is very optimistic for 0.4.0 (given the track record...)

I've set up the auto save and auto record but after the a random amount* it doesn't want to save anymore.
It jumps to the playback/save screen but jumps back immediately, if I then stop auto record-save and try to record something it only says it recorded 0 frames.
If I try to record anything and look back at it it says 0 frames.
Only a reboot can make it ok again.

*(It happened once around 5, once around 15 and once around 30 so far)

How is it the 0.3.1 version going? Gonna release it anytime soon?
Very soon. It's been in pre-release testing for a few days and nothing catastrophic has happened yet. We'll be able to release it today, with luck!
I guess something catastrophic happened... ;)

It's great to see the progress on 4.x, thanks for keeping us in the loop with the nice roadmap :)

Well, we're putting our camera up at a 4 meter high ceiling aimed at a water basin so you can't just put up a ladder and it has to be turned on/off daily. (And with the Chronos firmware not being 100% stable right now....)
Now we could open the camera and solder a wire to the button but that's not really an option if you want to keep the warranty of course.

Hey Chrontech,

For one of our applications we would like to be able to turn the chronos on/off remotely.
We could take out the battery and cut the power, which isn't the nicest solution or maybe send a signal via SSH but still you need to turn it back on again somehow.
Would it be possible to accept a Wake-On-LAN signal? Or a boot after power loss?

I'm not sure If I'm the only person but I expect that the camera might be used by more people where it can't be accessed easily and leaving it on 24/7 isn't an option.

- Changes to video saving settings are now applied as they are made, not just when the popup is closed.

It's not set the settings after a reboot anymore though. I set it to save @ 25fps and that works but after a reboot it saves video at the default 60fps. If I then open the save settings it shows 25fps and applies it automatically but that does mean I have to manually go to that menu again after reboot. This does not work in our use case where the camera is up at the ceiling :P

I'm still getting corrupt frames and more importantly after many sequential recordings a freeze, either just a grey image and not responding or a forever "shutting down krontech.ca" screen (after about 40 video's 1280x720, 800 frames long, using 3.0 RC2).

I've been using Davinci Resolve free edition and that does basically all you need and more.
It has time warping with a nice curve editor and studio grade color correction which helped me a lot to polish the raw looking feel of the Chronos.
But as with any big software you got to dive in a little before you get the hang of it but at least it's free :)

Hi Forum

I'm wondering if this updated software release (when it's officially released) will have support for ethernet connectivity (I read it's being developed and is a high priority)?  The updated manual states that it's still pending.  Any insights would be appreciated.

I've just ordered a pair of cameras to do high-speed stereo kinematic reconstructions of insect flight... my rig (wind tunnel, etc.) means access to the SD card for offloading video will be awkward.  I did read that there is a script that allows monitoring of the SD card for new files then automatically sending them to a remote computer by SCP... additional information about that option would be appreciated (information beyond what is already on the forum, of course).

Can't wait for the new cameras to arrive!
J.
Hey Jeff,

As we are all waiting for Ethernet functionality we used the USB RNDIS-network interface. We made a tiny .net application in visual studio with WINSCP that simply copies all files of the SD card with the push of a button.

If there are more people interested it could be made into a nice tool with a more features and a decent UI but let's start a separate thread for that.

Just received the camera as well and I'm impressed at the quality.

But a few minor tweaks would already help:
- As Electra said remember the "Record settings" so it doesn't reset each time you go into the menu
- but also remember all last used settings when turned off/on (like zebra, peaking, record, trigger settings)
- the dedicated record button to say yes in the "unsaved video popup"

We're trying to use the camera for automated use, controlled via ethernet/PC. So we're desperately waiting for the network control. Is there a beta firmware test group which I could join? And is there a roadmap for when which features are estimated to be ready?
