Video of the wb maybe bug, after video I got a better wb off of the rocketbox of my car, but it is a bit rediculous
Loving everything but this should be improved as it seems to work worse than last version

Hey David, im not sure if its just me but the WB seems harder to use, i keep trying it on a white sheet of paper and getting weird colors, where I had an easy time doing it this on the old firmware when it wasn't as bright this am,

on a separate note:
When do you think Setting the Whiteballence by Kelvin temperature will be available?  I would say this is my number one reason for getting failed shots, i can't find anything to white balance off of, or the lens focal length makes it impossible either fisheye lens or 800mm telephoto, i would love to just set the WB to 5500k and be done with it, I would guess about 60% of my shots suffer because of having to do a custom WB

can you do the segmented buffer with the auto save and record so you can shoot one clip and it will save half the buffer in the backround and then you can shoot the other half and then it saves? thinking for the water housing,
tested this am and so stoked for more jog wheel control and IQ improvements

After I finish writing the manual we'll release Release Candidate 1 for Beta 0.3. I'm on the fifth revision of the manual now, so... soon™! :D
is this where we will see the release?

looks good, i think turning jog dial to tab between windows then a press to change value or activate function like WB, then you can jog to change value or if something like WB once completed it goes back to the twist to tab to another selection, This would still leave pressed in twist to change value faster like you said,
having a checkbox in setting page to turn it jog dial would solve all the people that don't want it.
I am so exited to get to use this, going to be awesome!

I'm writing the user manual now. I don't know how long it'll take, since I'm working off the old one atm. After that, we'll need to do some testing to make sure nothing's broken. Then we'll release the next beta. 8)

While I imagine the release will come fairly quickly, on the order of weeks as opposed to months, I don't actually know. The last release was before I started with Krontech, so I don't have a good idea what we actually need to do here.
Sounds good keep us up to date so I know when to test

It is indeed a bug. I think Simon has fixed this, possibly again, but we haven't landed the patch yet. It should be fixed in the next update. :D
sounds good!
any rough estimate of the next beta firmware version?
thanks

For those of you itching to shoot RAW on your Chronos, you can now use the raw saving feature in the latest beta software v0.2.5 along with this new conversion tool to make DNG sequences. This is a stopgap solution until we have DNG saving built into the camera.

pyraw2dng converts the .raw files saved by Chronos to standard Adobe DNG files.

The pyraw2dng utility is open source, you can view the source code on Github:
https://github.com/krontech/chronos-utils/tree/master/python_raw2dng

Requirements

Python 2.7, available here: https://www.python.org/downloads/release/python-278/
This might work in Python 3 as well, but it has not been tested.

During the Windows Python 2.7 installation, ‘install’ "Add Python.exe to Path" as shown below:

Usage

Save your video using the RAW16bit format on the camera. Raw16RJ works, but the images are dark and need to be fixed in post. RAW12bit packed mode is not yet supported, but is coming soon.

Download the script (see attachment)

Copy the script file, pyraw2dng.py and the raw 16 bit format video into the same directory.

Open a terminal (command prompt), then navigate to the folder with your videos and script

Execute the script as shown in the example below. You will need to update the -w and -l switches with your actual frame size.
pyraw2dng.py -w (width) -l (length) (filename)

Where:
(width) is the horizontal resolution of your recording
(length) is the vertical resolution of your recording
(filename) is the .raw file you want to convert

An example of a complete command is shown below:
pyraw2dng.py -w 1280 -l 1024 vid.raw

The raw video will be converted and saved as a DNG sequence in a folder of the same name as the .raw file.

Let us know how this works for you!
