Chronos User Discussion / Chronos 1.4 8GB Color for sale in Switzerland
« on: February 13, 2024, 07:44:30 AM »
Hello everyone!

I've had a lot of fun with my Chronos 1.4 over the past few years, but unfortunately I've been finding less and less time to use it lately. I would therefore like to find a new home for the camera.

The camera with the serial number 00066 is from the very early days of Kron Technologies and still works perfectly.

I am from Switzerland and would especially like to address the small Swiss community here. If you are Swiss, I am sure that you have already heard of the Ricardo auction platform, so here is the link (more pictures and a detailed description can be found there):

https://www.ricardo.ch/de/a/chronos-14-high-speed-camera-8-gb-ram-color-(gebraucht)-1252744000/

Feel free to send me a direct message or write in here if you have questions, I will drop by from time to time.

Best wishes,
Patrick

Once that's done we'll be working on a better in-camera video pipeline, the primary goals are better democratic (Likely AHD, same as used by Adobe Camera RAW last time I checked), as well as better color processing. I believe this will fix the h264 quality issues.

I've just seen this thread and I'm symply blown away by the comparison between RAW and h264.

Although it is a very unpopular question, could you predict a rough time schedule for this update? Can we expect something in that direction this year, maybe this summer?

Chronos User Discussion / Re: 2nd battery
« on: January 21, 2018, 05:32:16 AM »
I've bought an expensive battery from Nikon, and it does NOT fit in my camera.

The problem is that the battery that came with the Chronos (DSTE) has, at least in my case, a slightly tilted connector (see the attached picture). The connector in the camera "adjusted" itself to this battery...

In the end i decided to buy an external power bank instead of extra batteries.

I also got this problem the first time today on my camera (serial number 00066).

Chronos User Discussion / Re: Let's talk LENSES!
« on: November 08, 2017, 07:32:04 AM »
Hey everyone!

First of all, I really don't know much about lenses.

I've purchased this lens (http://www.krontech.ca/store.html#!/Fujian-25mm-f-1-4-C-Mount-lens/p/77244591/category=21981409) in an online auction similar to ebay, since it was really cheap and had some good reviews. After arriving today I wanted to try it out, but I couldn't get the mounted lens to focus at all. I have the feeling that the lens is malfunctioning, but maybe one of you can give me some tips.

If I unscrew the lens and simply hold it in front in a distance of about 2-3mm, I get a sharp image. But even then, turning the focus ring doesn't seem to change much.

In general: Is a spacer ring needed for this lens?

Chronos User Discussion / Re: 12 Volt power adapter.

Are you connecting them directly to the camera? If so, that won't work, 12V is too low and 24V is too high.

Thanks for your response! Yes, I connected them directly, hoping that they would support the internal battery at least. So a voltage converter is the solution...

Hi everyone!  :)

I filmed some different types of fireworks.

In the beginning, I had some troubles with the quality on youtube when I uploaded in 720p, then I switched to 1080p.
Here is the playlist so far, more to come:

Hi everyone!

I have a small question about external power for the Chronos:

I've found in my inventory two lead batteries of this type (website is in german, as I am from Switzerland).

https://www.conrad.ch/de/bleiakku-12-v-23-ah-conrad-energy-ce12v23ah-250177-blei-vlies-agm-b-x-h-x-t-177-x-60-x-34-mm-flachstecker-48-mm-250177.html

The batteries are in good condition (no deep discharge) but still, they don't seem to run the Chronos. What do you think about this? Is the voltage too low?

Many thanks in advance!  :)
