Maybe try the full-size USB port?

Curious: Are you using a filter? All of your videos, except the Beer vid, are pink.

I'm bored, so thought I'd harass David. :) Any idea when the next software rev might be coming, and what might be included?

In the end, it's actually quite good the way it is. Slide the slider, adjust the play speed, L and R arrows, adjust play speed again, roll dial back and forth. I'd be fine if it didn't change, but the "click to toggle through roll speeds" idea could be cool.

Fair enough! Then I would suggest the following based on all the above:

Clicking the jogwheel will switch between the following speed settings:

- Single-step
- Slow
- Normal
- Fast

The textual representation of the currently selected speed would be displayed somewhere on screen during playback such that one gets feedback on what the current setting is when pressing the button.

The % settings for each such mode would have a reasonable set of defaults based on testing, but could optionally be fine-tuned in the camera settings somewhere if one wants to have more fine-control over those speeds.

Having those textual representations will make more sense to the average user, while still being able to be fine-tuned in camera settings if desired (to whatever granularity needed).

Good deal. I like.

disagree with the usefulness of frame by frame jogging

Don't fret, just a conversation, which will benefit everyone. :)

I wonder if you're concentrating too much on the Mark In/Out aspect of the wheel. I use it *inside* those boundaries to see, frame by frame, whether I got the shot I wanted.

Mark In/Out could certainly be made more course if the community desires it (n frames, n seconds, or 1/n of buffer), but being able to step forward/backward to study a captured event is a huge deal.

One frame per click is crucial to reviewing the footage before saving. Don't take it away.

Press-release to toggle between fine and course is a great idea (press+hold+turn is too hard).

A menu to choose your definition of "course" is ehhhh, find I guess, but better to just choose a happy common value and bake it in.

What resolution(s) are we talking about here? Not to say that getting good focus isn't hard (it definitely can be), but I wonder if you're mistaking sensor softness for blurriness.

and I quite like the modular approach.

If you mean the ability to light from multiple angles, I agree: that's been fun to play with. Maybe one Godox as the primary, plus the two Stratus. ;)

Darn it bishop, and here I was happy with my hacky Stratus lights. Now I might have to spend money again. grrr

Mine have screw terminals, so no soldering. I have a few of each of these, they seem interchangeable:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MIJL4OC
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019SYX7BM
(and many others, some with V and A displays built in, which will be in my next order)

1) Attach your source, set the output V with the Voltage screw
2) Unscrew the Current screw all the way (it'll tick tick tick but won't actually stop)
3) Connect your vmeter in series with the lamp
4) Check the LED spec sheet for amps
5) Increase the Current screw until flicker stops and you get solid light output, note the amp draw and double check the LED spec sheet
(I actually gave an extra half turn of the CC screw to avoid starving the LED)

If you think you may have bumped or moved one of the screws, check it all again. Better safe than smoky.

The boards I bought from Amazon, similar to sam's, have a constant voltage dial and a peak current dial. So yes, constant output voltage regardless of input.

It's tough to answer that question by looking at posted footage. One can't say if the focus was perfect, which is really tough to get in some scenarios (DOF can be a few mm at best), etc.

The faster frame rates do contribute to a softer look, as we're only using a section of the sensor (digital zoom bad).

In general, I'd say that yes, overall picture quality is softer than I'd like. But with perfect focus, full sensor resolution, sharp lens, and <=50% shutter, it's not terrible for the price.
