Chronos User Discussion / Re: Anyone from Berlin?

I'm not too far from Berlin (still a 3 hour drive at least though), but not in Germany for the next few months  ;)

The jog wheel can do two things: spin and click.
I figure the logical thing to do is keep having an unpressed spin cycle the value a little, and a pressed spin cycle the value a lot. Like on the Play screen. However, if you just click the wheel without spinning it, it'll pop you out of the control you're editing so you can select a different control or button. Click the jog wheel again to edit the new control or click the button.
I think this is the most natural and intuitive way to do it, so looking forward to it. However please try to keep the different option windows (recording, saving, trigger settings...) somewhat consistent in their design and orientation. For example a general left to right or preferably up to down direction for the user inter-actable items. You should not be surprised which input field is going to be selected next by rolling the wheel and they should not jump around too much :)

This is the link to the ram I bought, happy upgrading
Same with me, works great. Having 32GB is definitively a large improvement.

Is the RAM user expandable? Does opening up the camera void the warranty?
Should be User Upgradable from what i have heard in other threads here in the Forum (I dont have a Chronos yet).
Should also be quite easy.
But i realy dont konw about the Warranty.
Someone else here should know.
While it certainly wasn't hard, easy is not the correct word for changing the RAM  ;)
has someone already done a teardown on YouTube or somewhere? There you should be able to see how hard it is. If no one has done a video like this and if there's enough demand I'd be willing to do one myself.

Nice! Can't wait to test it myself!
However the "Record Modes" Button seems kind of hidden down there to the left, it almost looks like the other captions on the left. Maybe shift it to the right to line up with the others?

I did buy these modules: https://www.amazon.de/Komputerbay-Channel-DDR3-1600-SO-DIMM-PC3-12800/dp/B01LFQH95Q/
Also I (obviously) used only the new RAM since the factory one is most likely faulty.
Generally mixing different RAM vendors / capacities / speeds works, but will not lead to the best results. And if the RAM is accessed in dual channel mode, both modules have to be the same latency/capacity and so on, but different vendors might be ok. I don't know whether Chronos uses dual channel mode.

The default RAM has no markings which lead me to a manufacturer of it, but if you really want to I can send you a picture of it. Or the devs tell you which one it is ;)

I exchanged the RAM for two new 16GB modules and the error appears to be gone!

I did everything as described, my camera is back to 0.1 now. The error is still exactly the same  :(

Ok, mail is sent. However I'd like to try a re-flash of the OS SD (to any version, but preferably 0.2) beforehand. You mentioned this possibility in another thread but I can't find a complete download.

EDIT:
Also I noticed that it takes a short moment before the error appears after triggering, so maybe the RAM is faulty? I'm going to record a video of my Chronos so you can examine it better later today.

Here's one raw frame if it helps

UPDATE:
Ok now I'm really worried: I reverted back to 0.2 (which only took a few seconds which is odd) and the error persists, but the pattern is slightly different and changes during the recording. I had no issues before I started playing around with the updates, and I did't do silly things like droping the camera... But it now feels like a hardware issue.

The install of 0.2.3 failed without error and i was still on 0.2 (at least that's what was displayed) so I can't tell if it's a new error.
I now tried rebooting: The camera works fine again until you start recording, then the artifacts appear again and are also in the saved files.
Black calibration gets rid of them until you start another recording.

I just noticed: At about 38sec in the video the appearance of the "errorbars" changes. This is no youtube error, it's actually in the file.

Hey Guys!

As mentioned in 0.3 Beta release thread, I could now update my camera.
I just tried a very basic shot just outside my window (cloudy, overcast, not really lit at all). The image looked fine on the screen before I started recording.
As soon as I pressed the trigger, very ugly vertical stripes arranged to form many horizontal stripes in total appeared on the screen and are now persisting in the preview mode.
The recording also has these artifacts, see the attached screenshot. These are so bad that they basically render the camera useless.
However I haven't tried anything to remove these yet (no reboot, black calibration, etc) to give you as many info as possible while the error persist.

Also I took a photo from the image displayed on the cam with its lens cap on, also see attachments.
The saved erroneous video is here: https://youtu.be/-_Sd_xi1CpU
I also saved the raw 16 bit output video, if it might be useful I can also provide it.

How about some (configurable) presets? Perhaps with 3-5 buttons or a dropdown for quick selection right on the front page?
