Chronos User Discussion / Re: Mechanical Drawing
« on: July 17, 2017, 07:59:09 AM »
The Mechanical Drawing I am looking for is mentioned on page 18 of the manual but it has not been added yet.  I was hoping there was a version out there.

As far as I know it's not. The only thing he has mads open is a lens protector arm. It's a 3D print file.

Is there a Mechanical Drawing available?  I have not received my camera and it would be helpful if i had a drawing of the camera to get me started.

You can get the manual here. http://forum.krontech.ca/index.php?topic=32.0

Suggestion, in bold print on the second page, add in

DO NOT remove SD cards before powering down camera otherwise you will damage the SD card or files.

You are straying off topic.
You never pull the card on ANY camera that is powered....
Go buy storage for a RED and you will never do it again.

So far it looks good.
But not having a camera in hand makes it tough.
I think mine is in production at the moment. Take your time with mine Dave. Because as soon as I get this thing it's going to be used for TV commercials and some TV shows I work on.
I do like the idea of having sections so you only need to change that VS. changing the hole book.

And please add in lots of info on the remote trigger as that is going to be needed first.

That is the same card I use for all the Gopro's and drones I have. When you have a subject you feel is going to be important you can make it a sticky so it will always stay at the top.
You were saying something about good and bad USB sticks also.
What is the preferred format the camera likes. FAT or NTFS?

I would try an SD card, I've experienced far more problems with USB drives than SD cards.

Do you have a list of compatible SD cards yet, that you recommend?

You should think of this camera system kind of like when IBM first came out with a computer. They kept improving things as they went along but that was also getting in the way of releasing the computer. They were torn between improving software and functionality while at the same time there customers were putting pressure on them to get there product out.  Finally they decided to release the computer and then work on the improvements after.
These guys are faced with the same problem. Just it's a lot more personal to them. They are building these as if it was there own camera. So no matter what it will be good and become more refined as they develop the next generation.

Myself, I think they are going to go for more memory and then 4K or 6K on the next version all the while keeping software backwards compatible as possible.

True RAW saving isn't supported yet, but that's coming soon.

Very nice. My editing people will love you when that happens.

How about the life of them? What is your exception from them hour wise? Also what is the longest you have run them time wise?

Well this saves asking for the hole spacing and length. I'm going to have my buddy CNC some out of aluminum.
Thanks for the files.

Please keep us informed on this fix.
This would be an issue my editor would see and ask me about it. Now that I know about it I have seen them in other youtube videos.

42
Be sure to post up a video how to. Or one with picts. The video would be best so you can give nice details.

So it "will" spit out RAW. good.
That make color correction so much better.
I hope that David and his crew figure out the 3 point calibration before the 16 Gb + lens combo packages come out. That's where I'm at in the mix. But I would have taken one back when he was still mounting them on wood.
It's only been 6 years so another couple of months won't kill me. I'm sure my youtube subscribers will like the new camera.

I must have missed the memo on the files. No big deal.  How many BIT are they in?

OK,, so I'm still weighting for my camera to arrive at the moment.
I have been using Adobe CC for my editing. What are the formats the camera drops onto the thumb drive and how is it working with them so far? How it it scrubbing through the file and things like that?
I can't weight to see what I can get it to do.

No camera yet it's still sitting in Dave's garage.. BUT.... David does listen. Thanks for taking the suggestion and putting up a forum board. This will make things better so people can work out the problems they find with others and let you do other things besides tech support. It will come in handy.
Just 1 suggestion though. You should have it by invite only to avoid all the non owners that will start trolling at some point. Luckily for me the board I own and operate I have good mods to keep things inline.
