It did some new stuff with up to 40.000 fps. What a shame that there's no 100.000 fps option anymore :(

https://youtu.be/yrNrErXOco8

By the way: I don't know why (maybe the new software?) but the image quality looks like it suffered a lot in comparison with my older videos.
at 20.000 fps I got again some strange maze like artifacts :( I don't know why this happens...

Look at around 5:30 ... it looks like there's a veil in front of the picture and the object just rarely shines through.

Is that a speed booster that you install first on the cam or just a lens adapter?

Just an adapter, like Nikon1 said :)

Hello there,

Corona restrictions are hitting hard. I have problems with my normal upload schedule because of that.

Today I finally could get outside and do some stuff. For example popping some water balloons with my new airsoft shotgun. That makes a hell of fun :D But this time without any big editing and 4k, because here I only have my 7 years old laptop which nearly went off in flames rendering this video.

The last part of the video means a lot to me :D :D

Oh No :(

I was so happy to get that insane high framerate :'(
Is there a chance to get it back in future updates? - I don't want to stuck at this beta version for ever ;D

Hello again,

because nobody can visit me during easter time, I just shot all my painted easter eggs :D
And I also tried out the 100,000k+ Framerate of the 1.4. Very impressive! I will do a more detailed video of that in the future.

How are you getting the 100,000 FPS frame rate? More info on the lens & lighting?

Hi there,

I use the 4.0 Beta version. This will allow for nearly 110.000 fps.

Lens: Samyang 35 mm 1.4 with a cmount Canon EF Adapter
Not that cheap at all :'D 500€

Lights: 2 x godox sl 150W

:)

You can See the whole rig in my 40.000 fps Video in the beginning. Nothing changed that much since this day :)

Thanks! I wasn’t aware that the V4 firmware had that capability since someone made a post re. the loss of 40k/s option. What is the resolution at 100k/S? (Waiting on a 1.4 or I’d know the answer)

NVM I found it in the 2.1 thread 320x32

320 x 32 ... nearly HD :D :D
It's super tiny, but in combination with a bigger frame as background and a little upscaled, it's okayish...

The fact that the camera is able of that framerate is just awesome. When I bought the cam I think around 28.000 fps was the maximum.

When they get rid of the artifacts that occur at this resolution, it would be perfect! :)

Even with the new 2.1 clips coming up, the 1.4 is still an awesome piece of hardware.

I would love to have that 2.1 * ___ *

As soon as there is a European sales office so that customs duties are eliminated, I will get one too!

Since both, the 1.4 and the 2.1 have the same casing I want to tell you my "problem" here in this thread:

In the moment I use this C mount to Canon Adapter https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00VIVXL2E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm using some quite heavy lenses on my Chronos. Having this super tiny C mount hole expanding to the Canon Adapter with this "giant" lens on it, it looks very worrying from a structural point of view.

Do you know if there are more "stable" adapters on the market... maybe some which use the for screw holes next to the lens hole??

I just know this from my Moravian Astro Camera... they have some Canon adapters that can be screwt directly to the casing ...

Or can you just prove me, that this tiny c mount thread is more than enough to hold a big 1kg lens on it's own? :D
