Hello again,

because nobody can visit me during easter time, I just shot all my painted easter eggs :D
And I also tried out the 100,000k+ Framerate of the 1.4. Very impressive! I will do a more detailed video of that in the future.
https://youtu.be/sE7WrWRNZDo

How are you getting the 100,000 FPS frame rate? More info on the lens & lighting?

Hi there,

I use the 4.0 Beta version. This will allow for nearly 110.000 fps.

Lens: Samyang 35 mm 1.4 with a cmount Canon EF Adapter
Not that cheap at all :'D 500€

Lights: 2 x godox sl 150W

:)

You can See the whole rig in my 40.000 fps Video in the beginning. Nothing changed that much since this day :)
https://youtu.be/pE0ydzTFaFA

Thanks! I wasn’t aware that the V4 firmware had that capability since someone made a post re. the loss of 40k/s option. What is the resolution at 100k/S? (Waiting on a 1.4 or I’d know the answer)

NVM I found it in the 2.1 thread 320x32

320 x 32 ... nearly HD :D :D
It's super tiny, but in combination with a bigger frame as background and a little upscaled, it's okayish...

The fact that the camera is able of that framerate is just awesome. When I bought the cam I think around 28.000 fps was the maximum.

When they get rid of the artifacts that occur at this resolution, it would be perfect! :)

Flying Bee @ 5899 fps  https://youtu.be/FsSZM7V7td4

Can you give us more details on that lens configuration? The canon video is impressive!

Thank you! For this videos I used a Sigma 18-35mm F1,8 DC HSM  for Nikon with a Photodiox (incl. manual aperture) adapter.

What are your thoughts on the Topaz Labs software that you’re using and specifically how it applies to slo-mo work? Have you processed/cleaned up video without upscaling it?

to remove all the artifacts you need a lot of light, a lot. Then 100k will look good, 2-3 led sources of 1000-1500w

you probably won't be able to remove the artifacts, but if you increase the light sources and reduce the sensitivity of the matrix, you will get a better image

Unfortunately, we have decided to remove the 100kpfs feature because of the artifacts at high framerates (around 50kpfs or higher). Starting in the next update, it will no longer be available for the 1.4 or 2.1. The max framerate will be back to 40kpfs for the Chronos 1.4, and 24kpfs for the Chronos 2.1.

Couldn’t it be left in place as an experimental firmware version with appropriate caveats? I can understand not shipping new production units it. But it would be cool to experiment with something on the fringes especially if it’s just a matter of swapping the uSD card and rebooting.

Oh No :(

I was so happy to get that insane high framerate :'(
Is there a chance to get it back in future updates? - I don't want to stuck at this beta version for ever ;D

whether there will be an addition in 2.1 in the future.
50K fps or 100k fps, because this sensor supports up to 300K FPS

Topaz Video Enhance AI (actual in beta) works realy well - I am absolutly satisfied with the results. It's build for upscaling but denoise/deblock works well too. The only thing - you'll need a powerful grafic card (Nvida) with at least 8 GB.

I agree with CS223. Keep it in, just add a screen you need to press OK at to accept that it's beta and artifacts may appear.
