Control the camera from a pc
« on: March 07, 2019, 02:34:17 AM »
Hello, I was searching for a program that enables me to control all the functions of my camera from a pc. Is it available ?
I've got another question, I'm using 2 cameras that are connected to a trigger for (recording/stop recording) functionality and I want to induce a delay between both cameras recording point. if I delayed one of the two cameras from its setting I'll be achieving what I want?

Remote Control (From a PC or possibly any browser) is planned and will be available with one of the next sowtware updates, we just need to be patient and wait for the devs here ;D
As for two cameras with a delay: have you tried to adjust the pre-trigger values on the second camera? It should work for the BNC input, but I'm not sure about the other ones.

API news will be announced on this forum. The easiest way to stay up to date is probably by subscribing via RSS. (The links are at the bottom of the page.)

Development of the externally-facing APIs you need is open. The component for pc-based control is at https://github.com/krontech/chronos-web-interface. It's a HTTP-based API, which is a wrapper around two internal APIs. Those APIs are the coordinator api written in Python and the video api written in C. Neither are ready for use yet, so the http api you need doesn't work yet. The coordinator api only exists in mocked form and is (well?) [https://krontech.github.io/chronos-gui-2/D-Bus.html]documented. The video api, which actually works for realsies, is undocumented at the moment so you can't use it either.

We're hoping to have the APIs released by the end of June now. Previously, we were hoping to have them released by the end of last January.

For your second question, it sounds like setting a delay as you describe will do what you want.

Hope that helps!

Interesting I think you should to try to remote the control ( that is for first problem ) as it was said above it will be fine after the next software update, I am thinking it is possible to make that faster but you need to check that on google. In your second problem with delay, I think you should try to change something in your settings and that is all. I can suggest you to try PC optimization software, it is a nice thing ( I am sure you know what it is) if no you can check https://thinkmobiles.com/blog/best-pc-optimization-software/ for more info.
