Analog input support

Hey, so ive been looking trough the user manuals of 1.4 and 2.1 cameras,
and i cant find anything refrencing it besides in the FW version 3.2,
where it states that this will get implimented eventually.


I swear to god i saw a clip of an analog voltage trace overlay over the video somewhere.

Is this feature supported by the current FW?
If not, is there a FW that supports it?

Im assuming the adc hardware should be there.

Would be really usefull to record synced voltage alongside the video.

Thank you for your interest.

Unfortunately this feature was never implemented. Focus on other components of the firmware and development of more critical features ended up pushing the Analog Input out of the development process. Due to it, it was left out of the Chronos camera manual.

Making this option a reality involves a significant effort from the engineering team as well as other teams at Kron Technologies. At present, there are other priorities that prevent the teams from devoting time to it.

thank you for the clarification.

Would it be possible for us to help with the implementation of the Analog Input feature?

This capability would be very useful in our lightning research, as it would allow us to record radio signals synchronously with high-speed video using the Chronos camera.

We have some relevant experience ? for example, we've developed this open-source device for VLF lightning observation: https://github.com/UniversalScientificTechnologies/RSMS02. We?re familiar with both FPGA development and controlling such hardware from Linux.

However, I wasn?t able to find any public documentation or source code that would allow us to start implementing analog input for the Chronos 1.4. If there is anything available (e.g. register-level docs, firmware codebase, or schematics), we'd be grateful for a pointer. We'd be happy to contribute any work we do back to the community.
