Chronos 1.4 Footage Thread

Video card that had an odd failure, causing it to catch fire on power-on

Being able to go well above 1000-1200fps (where my two other cameras maxed out) seems to open up entire new worlds, there are so many things to film right at home. I love it, hours and hours of fun. I still feel like a kid on Christmas eve.

Hitting rusty nails with a hammer, filmed at 13,000-38,500 fps. Lighting was not optimal, there was cloud cover so I had to use a bit of gain to make things look ok. The shots turned out decent despite the exposure being just 26 microseconds in the last shot.

Taken with the computar lens from about 1m away.

All three of these shots were with a 135mm f2.8 from the 70's. The softness in the first two is from having the aperture wide open and having a lot of glare from behind and beside the subject. The last clip shows off how sharp the Chronos 1.4 can be with the right lenses and lighting. Thanks David!

Already dropped a comment and like, keep it up! Enjoy seeing peoples test footage.

Lauri from HPC/Beyond the Press took what is currently my favorite thing ever shot on Chronos:

I love how the garbage can changes color for a few hundred microseconds before breaking and reverting to the original color.

I agree, I love that shot! I've got a few lenses coming soon that will give me some more range of motion for stuff to record in interesting ways!
Want to work with ballistics and explosives a bit more now that we can comfortably achieve frame rates that show the characteristics of them in slow motion.

If Krontech are going to the effort of making a high speed camera portable... would be a shame to not take it to the streets

David might like these mythbuster-style shots.

Not very artistic or fancily edited, hopefully the nice shock wave footage makes up for it!

That's awesome gyppor :) I want some explosives to film!
Also just an update, I got a nice Microscope C-Mount lens today, it gives an INCREDIBLE close view of the world, I am interested in what I can try it out on!

This is a test shot using the Chronos 1.4 I have on loan from Aimed Research

This is my first actual video using the camera, the Chronos footage starts around 2:27 if you want to skip the rest

Thank you!

Someone should start a thread listing everyone who owns a Chronos and is posting footage.  Youtube,  or where ever.  I'm really curious what everyone is doing with their cameras.

Good idea. I added it to the original post, a list of forum users and their respective channels.
