A small red dot was the most cost efficient and expedient way to help aim the lens.

I acquired a catadioptric lens (mirror) to play around with. It is made by Sigma and is f/8. I used a speed booster. This lens is 42mm and I got an adapter to make it micro 4/3. It works pretty well.

I mounted a micro red dot to the cage to help me aim.

Here is a sample I shot at the zoo. 30 yards or so is not far enough way. LOL

You can find these lenses for under $150 on ebay. Be careful. Mine has some mold on the mirror. It seems this is somewhat common. But for a cheap high magnification lens, I am ok with it.

@BHV the weight is not that bad. It is 830g or 1.83 lbs.  I am supporting the lens with my left hand so I can pull focus. The DOF is very shallow even at 30-40 yards away. My right hand holds the Chronos. All those video clips were hand held.

Nicely done. I am playing with my 600mm Sigma lens and took it to the local zoo.

I used a speed booster to mount my M42 Sigma 600mm f/8 mirror lens and adapted it to micro 4/3. Shot these two video clips on a cloudy and rainy day. Weeds and pigeon are 30 yards away.

I used some of my 3d printed cal .68 projectiles against some wine glasses.

What lens are you using? All my videos have this hazy look to them like I filmed it with a vhs camcorder.

Filmed a 20mm Fliegerfaust rocket. It uses angled ports to spin the rocket from the exhaust. The frame rate makes the rocket appear to spin counter clockwise, stop and then spin clockwise. It is a stroboscopic effect. Like helicopter rotors spinning the wrong way or reversing direction on a digital camera.

Small Rig sent me a cad file of their dedicated cage I asked them to make via Dream Rig. The cad drawings for the Chronos really helped make this effortless.

Hi everyone! First post here.

My main hobby is building small battlebots. I got a Chronos 1.4 to shoot test footage and match footage, and recently I got some really great stuff that I wanted to share.

Test footage is pretty straightforward to get. I have a steel-lined box with a clear top that I can set up in.

Match footage is much harder. I have to constantly adjust the focus for bots that can traverse up to 10 ft/s. Luckily, our bots did pretty poorly this last tourney (oops), so I had a lot of time to practice.
Here's some of the best shots I captured from Robot Ruckus 2021:

Interesting. Only issue is the lighting. It’s hard to control that. As I’m sure you notice by now you need a ton of light to capture good footage.

Comparison between Killer Instinct Fatal X and Swat X1 cross bows. The Swat X1 has an enclosed barrel that limits the archers paradox (oscillation and flex of the bolt/arrow)

I helped my friend diagnose a problem with this Krink. On occasion it would fail to eject. So I used the Chronos and was able to capture the malfunction. The first two clips on the sequence are regular ejection. The third one is a little bit weak and the fourth one is the malfunction. You can see how the brass hits upwards first and that retards a lot of the energy the brass had. So now it bounces off the back edge of the ejection port and back into the gun where the bolt slams it forward.

Filmed my friend’s S&W 500. He shot 600gr projectiles and the last one was a 700gr projectile. I briefly caught it tilting as it flies through the air.
