« Last post by B.H.V on December 27, 2023, 07:17:07 AM »Hi all, I'm seeing different dimensions for the IR filter size (See below links). Some documentation shows it as 15mm X 15mm, another shows it at 18mm X 18mm and 24mm X 16mm. What would the filter size be for a Chronos 1.4 received in 2018?

You should have more flexibility for cropping to 9:16 when using the Q12 because of it's squarish sensor.

Chronos User Discussion / Future Camera Idea Krontech: Chronos 2K but using a 2/3 sensor for lower cost

Some of us like the smaller 2/3 sensor form factor as we can use modern sharp 0.95 and 1.2 lenses (Laowa Argus, Meike and Nokton) at their wider aperture receiving more light into the sensor while keeping a greater depth of field for easier focusing compared to larger sensors. And I'm guessing by using a smaller sensor and some other cost cutting measures (ie. cutting the maximum record time to 3 seconds which would require less RAM), the camera can be more affordable. Looks like GPixel has a 2/3 2K sensor (see below). Just a thought. Was thinking this can maybe be around $5000-6500 as the lowest affordable option for Krontech. At this price point, I think more people would buy.

I have a Meike 35 0.95 lens as well and it's pretty sharp at 0.95! My Meike 50 0.95 is a bit soft low contrast wide open but not too shabby. It sharpens up at 1.2 and up. One of the benefits of the smaller 2/3 sensor is we can use these wide open apertures as the DOF is greater and more forgiving in getting the subject in focus.
