Yeah, I first process the DNG’s and export them to TIFF.

Nice upscaling test! I’ve been having great results with VEAI as well. I should have more up soon this week. Did you shoot DNG or MP4?

I think they're observing Canadian holiday over there and should be back tomorrow. I got an automated email from them on Friday saying they're out on holiday

Just curious. How many hours of battery life are you getting on yours?

You could try adding film grain if you want to get less banding after denoising.

Nice test shot.  :) Looks pretty clean. Thanks again for sharing.

You could probably change the color in black and white in a video editor? It be cool if they can do it in camera though.

So this is one of my first Chronos 1.4 8K upscaling tests with Topaz VEAI. This was a challenge to edit because my laptop struggles with 8K even though it easily edits 4K (NVIDIA GTX 1080 Mobile GPU and i7 8700K CPU). However, I thought it was worth it when I looked at the final results. Using Gaia CG I was able to upscale the 1280 X 1024 to 7680 X 6144 decently. I think this upscale shows how flexible the Chronos 1.4 DNGs are. All the clips were shot at 1,000 FPS. There are two videos below. One is the 8K upscaled version and the other is the 1280 X 1024 version so you can compare the original and the upscaled versions.

Shooting some ballistic gel* in slow motion!

*okay, it's just normal jelly... so that an airsoft BB can actually penetrate it :D

Without any artificial light... on a cloudy rainy day. Still okay, but I miss my lights. I forgot them when I visited my parents home last month ::)
When I have my lights back, I want to experiment with this DAIN motion thing :)

Nice shots Luke! What was the framerate that you used? Cool to see how the jelly moves in slowmo. 👍
Yes, I think you’ll like DAIN. Takes some experimentation to get good results but it’s worth it.

Yeah, I try to stop down the lens but only problem is sometimes the light is enough to compensate for that so I end up getting underexposed shots for some.

I was looking on my phone screen and I thought the shot at 44 seconds was in focus. But yeah I can see why you said that after looking on my computer screen. But it was cool to see how some of those dragon flies move.

Nice job getting the dragon fly in focus. 👍 Do you remember what your aperture was?

]Thanks a lot!Maybe try holding it at the Lens, when using Big and Heavy lenses, usually helps with handling.I guess this was shot at f/2.8 and Gain 0?

You are correct, I'm not sure how much gain is reasonable yet.

HOWEVER (I failed to post this message last time, so this is an edit) I've since tried 24dB of analog gain and it's pretty impressive!

Wow, that’s pretty impressive for 24 DB gain and is similar to 0 DB gain on the Chronos 1.4. The low light on that is something else.

I just got my 2.1 today. Huge thanks to Krontech for providing me with a UK plug for the mains lead - it's the little things like that that make the difference - and DHL for getting it from Canada to Leeds in two days!!

This is my first attempt at filming so it's very basic (and not colour-graded, straight out of the camera). A guitar strum at 1500 fps

Nice clip. : ) Have you tried stopping down the lens to get more in focus?

Did something a little different. Chronos 1.4 clip shot at 3,587 FPS in 800 X 480 and upscaled to 3200 X 1920 (forgot to do a Black Cal). It definitely won't be as clean, but I just thought I'd play around with it, and this is the best I could do. Additionally, I interpolated the frames 4X using DAIN to simulate 14,348 FPS. I find DAIN to be better at handling motion interpolation artifacts compared to Twixtor. Lens used was a Computar 8mm 1.8.
