Post by: Pjohnson on February 13, 2020, 09:49:16 AM
Please explain the eSATA 3G interface specification.  Does this means 3.0Gbps or third generation.

The eSATA interface is 3Gbps, so second generation.

Due to CPU limitations, the real-world write speed when saving DNG will be about 50-60 megabytes per second to a SATA SSD.

If you get an eSATAp cable, you can power the drive with just one cable

You can find an example of this cable here (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32599267478.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.322b528bFLyf33&algo_pvid=c84bbf3e-a17a-442b-9618-228268177fed&algo_expid=c84bbf3e-a17a-442b-9618-228268177fed-0&btsid=0ab6d69f15816655185235201e1a8e&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_). We also sell these on our web store (https://www.krontech.ca/store/eSATA-to-SATA-Cable-p133345541).
