2x2 binning on Chronos 1.4.

tretee:
Is 2x2 binning supported by the sensor? if yes, is it supported by the camera?
I am primarily looking for a way to get the light sensitivity that the LUX330 has.

skronstein:
It is supported by the sensor, but not in the camera's software yet. As far as I know, it will be in a future software version.
Once it is supported, cameras with monochrome sensors will be able to turn binning on or off in software.
To use 2x2 binning on a color sensor, the LUX330 would be needed; it can't just be changed in software because of the larger pixel size on the color filter.

tretee:
Thanks for the feedback. I have a mono camera so that will work for me.
Would be great to get a ballpark release date?

skronstein:
No, sorry, I don't have any release date info.

--- Quote from: victorpatrick on July 31, 2023, 02:50:09 AM ---In the case of the Chronos cameras, they do support 2x2 binning, which means four adjacent pixels are combined into a single super pixel. This mode effectively doubles the camera's light sensitivity, making it more suitable for low-light situations.
To enable 2x2 binning on the Chronos camera, you will need to access the camera's settings or menu and select the appropriate binning option. Keep in mind that enabling binning will reduce the camera's resolution, so you should choose this mode based on your specific requirements for light sensitivity versus resolution.
