Can a Sony E-mount adapter version be made for the 1.4 and 2.1?

Chronos User Discussion / Re: Chronos 1.4 Footage Thread
« on: May 27, 2024, 09:11:44 AM »
Used a custom OLPF over the Chronos 1.4 sensor. See the anamorphic clip below I shot with the 1.4 to see the difference between with and without the OLPF. Really hoping Krontech can make an inhouse OLPF for the Chronos cameras cause they do make a difference in the reduction of aliasing/moire in bright specular highlights and very fine detail.

Chronos User Discussion / Re: Chronos Q12 gone from website

I’m thinking it could be due to low Chronos Q12 preorder sales also. I’m hoping Krontech can just use the smaller Gigapixel 2K 2/3 inch 3,000 fps sensor and make it cheaper at $6000ish. You take a hit with the smaller sensor but I would buy it for that price even if the record time was only 2-3 seconds max. I think they would get more sales from the more budget consumer/enthusiast crowd.

Chronos User Discussion / Chronos Q12 gone from website

Am I seeing things, or did they remove the Chronos Q12 from the website?

They can name the camera the "Chronos 2.5" based on the GSPRINT4502  data throughput.

I see. Sorry about your experience with Krontech. They've been pretty responsive and helpful to me. Enjoy the Freefly! It looks like to be a great camera and thanks for the sample! I would really like to test out their Chronos Q12.

I'm hoping Krontech can make a 2/3 sensor 2K 3000 fps camera that is around $6000. I feel like $15,000 is still a lot of money for the average joe. $6000 would be perfect for a smaller 2/3 sensor I think. I still think there is a market for a 2/3 sensor instead of the 4/3 or APS-C sensor. Greater depth of field is something I would want and there are a few sharp 0.95 lenses (Laowa, Meike, ie) in case you wanted to get more shallow DOF with a smaller sensor. Would not mind if they had to cut corners with record time and RAM (two - three seconds is perfect for me) for it to be cheaper at $6000. Gigapixel does indeed have a 2K 3000ish fps 2/3 sensor so hope they use it.

Why not go for the Chronos 4K12?

Chronos User Discussion / Chronos 4K12 and Q12 Footage Thread

I wanted to make a thread for people who want to share Chronos 4K12 and Chronos Q12 footage once they have their cameras on hand .  :)

What's the resolution to get to around 40,000 fps with the 2.1?

Here are a few settings the Chronos 2.1 can achieve near 40,000fps

HResVResFPS
19202040496.8
12803237745.3
10243839787.8
8005239745.6

Would you be able to post video samples of each resolution?

Thanks ROB!

Lower bit depth data must be physically recordable by the cameras' sensors. In the event that the sensors are only meant for 12-bit capture, it could be challenging to achieve lower bit depths using firmware alone.

Yeah true.

13
yes the answer you have writes is perfectly fine

Not really, because this shows the 2019 revision has it at 18mm and 18mm but the 2020 revision as 15mm X 15mm which would not make sense.

Chronos User Discussion / Chronos 1.4 IR Filter Dimension Size Confusion?
« on: December 27, 2023, 07:17:07 AM »
Hi all, I'm seeing different dimensions for the IR filter size (See below links). Some documentation shows it as 15mm X 15mm, another shows it at 18mm X 18mm and 24mm X 16mm. What would the filter size be for a Chronos 1.4 received in 2018?

Chronos User Discussion / Re: NEW: Chronos 4K12 and Chronos Q12

Hi
Is the square sensor of the Q12 made for all the 9-16 format requests that we get all the time?

www.ronaldkoetzier.com

You should have more flexibility for cropping to 9:16 when using the Q12 because of it's squarish sensor.
