Title: Microphone passthrough to HDMI
Post by: hummingbirdography on January 05, 2022, 01:25:48 PM
Is there a way to passthrough the microphone signal to the HDMI? This would be useful for live captures (60fps) with an external recording device.

I dont think so, but am not very up to date with the latest Firmware Versions and have not tried recording any Audio lately.
Did a quick bit of research, and i think something called an "HDMI audio embedder" would do what you want to do with an Video-only Signal from the Chronos and whatever Audio you want to have on there.
As the Chronos has quite a bit of noticeable delay in HDMI Image output to Real Life, you might also want to run your Audio through some adjustable Delay unit if it needs to be synced (for Example Broadcast Type Settings or Professional Livestreams). Otherwise, if that is an option, just Shift the Audio in post/ Editing a bit to have it in Sync (Would probably require use of a Clapperboard when Shooting or something similar, if you want it not to be guesswork). That would be a very Solid Hardware Solution for this Problem, but adds a bit of Bulk to the Camera Rig.
