Title: Upgrading the 1.4 to the 2.1
Post by: dgerrard on September 17, 2019, 08:15:23 AM: I heard there was a plan for the 1.4 camera owners to be able to upgrade their camera to the 2.1 by some sort of a trade in policy. Is there any progress on this or is it just a myth? What is the time frame and how much will it cost?

I was wondering too. I signed up for the newsletter and received a confirmation message but nothing since. I have plans for a shoot later this year and it would be nice to know if the upgrade would be available, how long it takes, costs, etc.

i dont think they completely dropped that idea, but considering that they allready have a pretty hard time Keeping up with the Regular pre-Orders for the 2.1s at the moment, i would be surprised if they would be able to do anything about the Upgrading right now.
Once 2.1s are actually in stock, this might will be a thing...?

Nikon1 is right, our focus is on satisfying the Chronos 2.1-HD pre order for now. The trade-in program remains on our to-do-list but won't be implemented before the Chronos 2.1-HD is in full production with continuous stock, which can probably be around the end of 2020 ... More details will be shared via our monthly newsletter when time comes, stay tuned!
