Title: File transfer over USB
Post by: rspears on March 10, 2021, 06:34:24 AM
Hi, my company is trying to add support for the Chronos cameras to our application. One of the things we need to be able to do is transfer a video to a user's Windows PC automatically. This appears to be possible using an SMB share ONLY IF the camera is connected to the LAN via Ethernet, and it doesn't appear to be supported via the USB connection. The USB connection is the way the vast majority of the users of our software would connect to the camera. It appears I can SSH into the camera and retrieve a video from the SD card, but because this is not an "officially supported" file transfer method, I hesitate to rely on it.

I guess my primary question is - are there plans to support SMB network storage via the USB connection in the near future? If no, are there plans to officially support some kind of simple file transfer to a Windows PC via the USB connection?
