Hi thanks for the reply, much appreciated. I'm at the same conclussion, but was hoping for a way to avoid havint to go through trial and error with multiple combinations :-) I'll report what I figure out.

Does the 2.1 top and bottom (and side for that matter) mounting points mimic something standard so you can get adapter plates off the shelf? What is the general idea for the placement of the holes? I can't seem to find anything that matches.
I have a specific situation, where I need lens support for a metabones speedbooster so some sort of bottom plate that snaps in place.
