Chronos User Discussion / Re: Introducing Chronos 2.1 HD!

I see that the 2.1HD is now listed as "If you buy one unit today. expect to receive it by April 2020." - Does this apply if I ordered it last year? I'm guessing so, sadly.

It's best to contact [email protected] for general and sales inquiries.

No it does not! If you order one camera today, you will get it in April/May. If you ordered one last year, they are shipping hopefully starting Monday!

Chronos User Discussion / Re: WTB - Used Chronos 1.4
« on: January 02, 2020, 12:56:38 PM »
Hi Jacob,

We are going to be rolling out a trade in program in the coming months which will introduce used cameras into our selection. Do keep an eye out for this on our forum and social media as we will be announcing it there. You may also send us an email to [email protected] for a quicker reply.

Unless you need a used camera right away, I would suggest checking eBay or Craigslist :)

We don't have distributors at the moment but we are looking to expand. So maybe in the future!

General high-speed discussion / Re: Control Chronos 1.4 via Laptop
« on: July 11, 2019, 04:26:06 PM »
Hi,

Is there currently a way to control the Chronos 1.4 via a laptop remotely (e.g laptop is connected to the camera and then triggering/recording/saving video can be controlled via laptop).

In my experiment manually having to save video really slows the process.

Thanks

We are working on an ethernet API update which will allow full control over Chronos through the ethernet port. This is scheduled to be out soon as an update, keep checking the beta thread in the forum for the update.

Chronos User Discussion / Re: Chronos 1.4 screen upgrade?
« on: July 11, 2019, 04:23:51 PM »
Seeing the improved brighter screen on the 2.1, would the new LCD be compatible with the 1.4? I'd love a brighter screen on mine, if it were possible to upgrade.

Thanks!
G

The new Chronos 1.4 are going to (if they haven't already) start using the new LCD's. We don't have a price yet for upgrades as no one has brought it up but if you are wanting to get this done, do shoot us an email at [email protected]

Sorry to hear that, try reformatting and see if it does it again. I wouldn't rely on that card until it proves it was just a one off.

That is awesome!
I've been a space geek since the 1960's, now I'm a slo mo geek.
Question: is the blue Danube recording public domain? My biggest problem with posting my YouTube videos is selecting music that's not copyrighted with the associated problems if it is

From personal experience, youtube actually has a database built into it that will show you the copyright protection of most music/songs that are "officially" uploaded to it.

Impressive!

How close did you place these cameras?

I wasn't there but I can imagine they where zoomed-in quite a bit! You can't get too close to active rockets  ;D

Spectacular footage of the last launch that happened on June 25 when SpaceX launched it's 24 satellites into orbit. Check out what we captured in slow motion!

Great idea! I'm sure you could also 3D print something sturdy enough too with a good design. Perhaps PETG?

Sounds and looks great. Nice to see some user-requested improvements.
Will the preorder include a lens or just the camera?

I don't believe we are including lenses with this one.

Chronos User Discussion / Introducing Chronos 2.1 HD!
« on: April 05, 2019, 11:54:42 AM »
Introducing the extremely anticipated Chronos 2.1!

Featuring a new 2.1 gigapixel/second sensor capable of 1080 HD resolution at 1000FPS with a maximum frame rate of 24,046 FPS.

Now sports Nikon F and Canon EF lens compatibility.

Chronos 2.1 features an LCD display that is slightly over 3x the brightness of Chronos 1.4. At 1000 nits, Chronos 2.1 makes for significantly better viewing of the camera controls when filming outdoors.

Attached is a full datasheet of Chronos 2.1.

Chronos User Discussion / Re: Chronos 1.4 RAW conversion tool - pyraw2dng
« on: January 15, 2019, 11:07:35 AM »
Hi thanks for your response,

that great that it now supports the formatting directly I had no idea. I just this minute got it working and thought I would write these very basic directions for anyone else that may need them

Capture raw file  - using 1st option on menu of chronos
Download and install latest version of python 2.7
Copy raw file and pyraw2dng.py file to a certain directory ie documents folder
Open terminal
navigate to the directory your files are stored at by typing the following
cd
Then hit spacebar, navigate to the folder where you files are in the finder and drag and drop into terminal after cd
So it should read something like
cd /users/name/documents
You will now be in the correct directory and need to run the script
./pyraw2dng.py -w 1280 -l 720 inputfilename.raw
it may say there is a permissions issue, in which case type in the following
chmod 777 pyraw2dng.py and hit enter
you may now find that it will come up with an error saying bad interpreter
type in the following
tr -d '\r' < pyraw2dng.py > newpyraw2dng.py
and change permissions again
Chmod 777 newpyraw2dng.py
Finally run the code by typing
./newpyraw2dng.py -w 1280 -l 720 inputfilename.raw
Making sure that you have written the correct proportions that match what you footage was shot at

Now there should be a folder created in the directory your files are in containing a dng for each frame of your video.

I hope that helps someone

Thanks

Milo
