Chronos User Discussion / Re: Loosing settings when power lost.

Nikin1,
Thanks for your suggestions.  I'm not much of a programmer either but you understand what we'd like to have added to the API.

I'll try contacting Krontech directly.

Cheers.

Software Dev / I/O settings not updated from camera via Network control
« on: November 04, 2022, 10:42:10 AM »
While under Web control there is not provision to change the "Record Length".

Also, the I/O Settings controls do not reflect the current state of the camera so I cannot be sure that the changes have taken place.  The trigger Hi/Lo indicator works in real time but not the setting options.

I tested this and can see after refreshing the Settings screen on the camera that my selections get updated but I have no idea without opening this screen.  I use my cameras remotely under water in Salty housings so confirming these settings would mean bringing the camera to the surface to check.

Are there plans to include real-time monitoring of I/O settings and changing the Record Length via Web control in the future?

Nikon1,
This setting scrambling seems to primarily affect the record length and trigger settings when connected via the network interface and seems to default to the maximum length possible based on storage capacity. This throws the pre-post trigger times out of wack also.

I am running my 2.1 under water via the network connection.  Once the record length gets reset to some maximum I cannot change it back to my 5 second preference.  Do you know of a way to set Record Length via the network interface?

Hello,
If the battery dies do the settings in the camera get reset?  If I power down the camera it saves the settings. But are they saved if the battery gets to low or dies?

Asking for a friend..

I have two 2.1s and a 1.4.  I am using the 2.1s under water in Salty enclosures which I cannot access during the tests after calibration has been done.
I lost power to one under water camera and the settings got reset (I am recording 5 second videos at 200fps).
I am not able to find where I can reset the record length to 5 seconds via the Web interface.  Is this possible?

Thanks,
Jeff

Chronos User Discussion / What is sample rate of TRIG2 INPUT?
« on: August 15, 2022, 03:41:54 PM »
Hello,
Trying to sync 3 Chronos cameras but if I use the Frame Sync Output to trigger the camera the live image gets scrambled and freezes the camera.

I therefore have to trigger the cameras in parallel and want to know the sample rate of the Trig2 input ports to know if the frames will not start close enough together as I will be using the three videos to calculate velocities.

Regards,
Jeff

Yes,
If you enable the "Autosave" feature (Utilities->General tab) the camera will immediately save the captured video to the selected location and create a name from the date and time.

Agreed, I have two 2.1s and a 1.4 that I need to trigger together and sync the shutters.  If I set the network setting to non-DHCP, put in my network setting and return to main screen when I return to the network screen my settings are gone and it has reverted to DHCP again???

Yes, I push "APPLY" to my settings before closing the network screen.

I need a solution for this soon because I am scheduled to do some underwater filming next week!!

Chronos User Discussion / Re: Wide angle lens for 2.1

Nikon1,
Thank you for such a comprehensive list.  Are the MFT lenses more popular and accessible than the c/cs mounts?

I will be adding lenses to my arsenal as required by future projects and wonder if the MFT adapters would be worth the $500 (two cameras) investment.

Hi Nikon1,
Sorry for not being very specific.  I am looking for a lens for my 2.1 that offers ~ 35 - 40 degrees (horizontally) without any vignetting.  I have a cs-to-c adapter so either mount would work.

I will be using the camera underwater in a swimming pool for some diving research.

I have a 25mm f1.4 Carl Zeiss lens that offers 40 degrees horiz but with the corners cut off.

Thanks

Can anyone recommend a CS lens with viewing angle min 35 degrees that works with my 2.1 without vignetting?

Mu 1.4 is running V4 firmware.  I tried your downgrade firmware option but the system does not see any options on the UBS stick.  I can save movies to the USB stick but the option available is Voyager from the repository.  Is this downgrade only available for V3.2 cameras?

Thanks, The safe mode worked for me.  I've completed my tests so I'll try the firmware downgrade next.

I also have a negative ghost image on my screen from a previous recording.  Only way to remove it is to reboot!  Hope it boots up again!

I'm suffering the same intermittent boot up issue, very frustrating.  I am using 1.4 V4.0 is it possible to go back to previous firmware?  I do not need USB control but I do need my camera to turn on!
