Just a normal whiteboard marker?

Nope! I needed a quick wired remote trigger for my new toy and wanted to build it out of stuff I had lying around. Needed it to fit in your palm and be thumb triggered just like the shutter release for SLR/DSLR cameras. Happened to have a dried up whiteboard marker on the table next to me and this is the result:





Machined the button end piece out of delrin rod, inserted a little push button switch. Cut off the end of where the marker tip was, machined the BNC connector down slightly to friction fit. The cap nicely protects the BNC connector

Obligatory "FIRST!!". Somehow I managed to create the first ever thread on this forum.

Anyway, does anyone have the dimensions for the mounting holes and threads that were added to the front of the camera? I'll be using it in close proximity to firearms and I'm looking at building a protective case or shield around the front of the camera.  Cheaper to replace a sacrificial piece of acrylic or polycarbonate rather than replace a lens or camera should it be hit with shrapnel or muzzle blast.
