Attached to this post is an JPG Image containing the Text "TEST".
If the Attachment is not Visible or not there / You are not able to open it, forum is still broken.
#EDIT# Attachments still not working, nobody can upload anything right now.

It looks like we overlooked a configuration variable during the forum migration, but it has since been fixed. Sorry about that!

Good Evening Everyone,

This is a notice informing you that the KronTech discussion forum will be offline for a few hours this Friday (May 19th, 2023), from 13:00-15:00 Pacific Standard Time for a provider migration.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you on the new, more performant host.  :)

Chronos User Discussion / Re: Introducing Chronos 2.1 HD!
« on: April 06, 2019, 02:24:20 PM »
This looks quite amazing!   I have been doing some non-production testing with my 1.4 at 5,900 fps and getting some fantastic results that are actually passable when the 640x360 frame is algorithmically upscaled to 1080p.  5,900fps is a world above 1,500fps in the type of detail that can be captured.   My question would be what type of increase in frame size would the 2.1 be able to manage at ~6k fps?  This wasn't clear to me since the 720p max is still 1,500fps on the 2.1.  Are we looking at a similar throughput for resolutions below 720p with the 2.1 version?

If the throughput is a 1.5x as suggested then you could do 720x480 of any equivalent ratio.

The LUX2100 sensor which the Chronos 2.1 utilizes does have slightly stricter limitations when it comes to horizontal windowing, so I'm not sure if it's possible to window to horizontal resolution of 720 pixels.

I'm sure a cinematic gimbal would have no trouble handling a Chronos but I dont know very many products that are made for the mid-range size of the Chronos.
Maybe a DSLR gimble would do it but I do not have very much experience in the field.

Chronos User Discussion / Re: Insanely high speed slit scan method?
« on: November 27, 2017, 08:19:31 PM »
Does it support width of less than 96px? As a vertical pixel strip of maximum resolution height with a 1px width is what most would use.
For example a side profile shot of a bullet in mid air from left to right.

If you can incorporate this in some manner I think it would be awesome. Especially for content creators and photographers in the high speed niche.
Theoretically whats the maximum fps the sensor could handle? I think if you can put even a basic test feature of this in, you'd REALLY turn some heads in the industry.
Something like a 500K fps slitscan would lead to some INCREDIBLE images being made, particularly for ballistics / explosives.

After the updates, yes it would be possible, but with speed, you will need to decrease the exposure time, so if you were to expose at half a million FPS the amount of light required for the exposure would be insane.

There is also another issue, we can't export anything easily with capability over 200,000fps because it becomes a federally regulated product, mainly because it is a tool that can be used easily for nuclear research.   :o

Edit:
Sorry, misinterpreted what you said, Due to sensor capabilities we can't narrow the sensor field below 336 pixels horizontally with framerate benefits, but you can do 336x1 for a slit shot once we get the blackspace working.
Cheers,
Max

We were filming somethings couple weeks ago with big and expensive phantom camera but the chronos footage turned out also surprisingly good on this 5 meter long stick of dynamite video https://youtu.be/ThLtMhiak-Q

The chronos footage starts on 8:20

I was wondering, What model phantom were you filming with? I recall you saying "the best one" Would that be a v2512?

Cheers,
Max

So I just received an email from Tabatha, the Operations Management person @ Kron Technologies telling me that my 6 year long wait is finally over. Hip, Hip, Hooray!!!

How many others are getting there camera in this batch?
I think this is the last round for the Kickstarter program.

We currently have production going on full tilt, Shipping should be starting by the end of the week if all goes to plan :)

To be honest at this current moment Krontech currently does not have the production capacity to deal with a higher order rate than we currently do. Once we have the Kickstarter orders completed and we can expand into a larger office/production facility it should be good.

Got another compilation done. Headed out to the range to knock off a few rounds and got some pretty cool footage.

I'm not a big fan of firearms, however things that can launch corks, ping-pong balls and larger past the speed of sound is simply brilliant.

DerpykV, your going to have to take some more shots with it and an (realtime) overview video.

nik282000, love how you can see the pressure wave build up and the disk break just before the ball touches it.
I'm assuming you've tried it with clear packing tape too? I've used it very well in the past. That with enough lighting, the ball painted black/white and the camera aimed as strait down the barrel as you dare would give give a very interesting shot indeed.

tesla500 has some video of it on his channel. It is his gun. Another good one is my high-speed spud gun, I have some video of that one. I'll make a GIF of it and post it here.

Beautiful, I love high speed ballistics shots.

We have a Mach 1 cork cannon here at Krontech, I'l see if I can compile the ballistics video we have shot and put it into a compilation.
