Chronos User Discussion / Re: Review of Chronos 2.1
« on: October 06, 2020, 05:10:48 PM »
Thanks for the different feedbacks on the Chronos 2.1-HD.

While the image correction, screen, fans and lens mount options are being worked on, we highly recommend to:
- save the footage via the eSATA connector for an optimal transfer speed (it is about 2 times faster than using USB and 3 times faster than using an SD card). This is even more important when saving at uncompressed formats if wait time is a constraint.
- light up your scene as much as possible and use a 0dB gain for a better image quality: shooting at 1000fps generally requires 5 times more light than regular 24fps videos to achieve the same amount of exposure. Lenses with a wide aperture are also recommended especially if you are limited in the amount of light you can supply, provided that your setup allows for a shallow depth of field.
- perform a black calibration with the lens fully covered after changing either the resolution, frame rate or shutter speed after making sure your camera has warmed up properly
- run the camera on the latest software version 0.5.1
- play around with the Set Custom option and Custom Color Matrixes in case the presets white balance conditions are not satisfying enough for your application and see how it turns out.

Chronos User Discussion / Re: Is Krontech still in business?
« on: September 10, 2020, 01:56:58 PM »
I would like to apologize on behalf of Kron Technologies for not interacting here earlier. Kron Technologies in still in business, up and running almost normally with of course some physical distancing and staff members working from home for the most part. Trust us, we have no interest in hiding information to our customers. In fact, we want to be as transparent as possible but there is of course room for improvement ... Your feedback is valuable.

In fact, our months of July and August were very intense in terms of new Chronos camera orders, especially for the Chronos 2.1-HD! As you know, disturbances in supply chains around the world as well as an always increasing number of orders have been affecting our capacity to get the necessary components to assemble cameras and fulfill all orders. Be ensured that our team is working around the clock to get each order prepared and shipped as quickly as possible.

Note that orders are treated on a first placed (invoice issued and order accepted in our system after the submission of needed documents or payment if applicable) first served basis. If your order was accepted, expect to receive an email notification when it is ready to ship. FYI, Chronos 2.1-HD pre orders placed now are now expected to take a few weeks to ship provided that orders placed before have been fulfilled.

Our regular hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. The best ways to contact us if you need:
- Technical support and assistance, please contact
- An update on the status of your order or have shipping related questions, please contact
- For all other general inquires, contact our sales team at
You can also call us at 778-819-1182 during our hours of operations and leave a message if needed. We will make sure to monitor all communication closely and get back to you quickly.

We've seen the display and recording issue happening primarily at resolutions below 800x600. You should be able to get away from it by selecting RECORD SETTINGS, then CENTER. No select the left box under OFFSET and adjust the offset by increasing or decreasing the number (clicking down or up on the screen). Click apply, close, then OK.

Chronos User Discussion / Re: Upgrading the 1.4 to the 2.1
« on: August 07, 2020, 11:55:36 AM »
i dont think they completely dropped that idea, but considering that they allready have a pretty hard time Keeping up with the Regular pre-Orders for the 2.1s at the moment, i would be surprised if they would be able to do anything about the Upgrading right now.
Once 2.1s are actually in stock, this might will be a thing...?

Nikon1 is right, our focus is on satisfying the Chronos 2.1-HD pre order for now. The trade-in program remains on our to-do-list but won't be implemented before the Chronos 2.1-HD is in full production with continuous stock, which can probably be around the end of 2020 ... More details will be shared via our monthly newsletter when time comes, stay tuned!
