Chronos User Discussion / Re: USB otg Ethernet support

Hello,
I also tried some time ago to connect my camera via USB. It did not work for me either. Now I use an ethernet cable with fixed IP addresses and that works fine.

Well, just received my Micro Four Thirds Mount from Krontech, and am not happy with it, will return it. Flatness and Alignment Error on that Adapter they sent me are just not acceptable in my Opinion.  Metabones seems to use a Tolerance of 0,01mm maximum Error for Flatness and Alignment across their Whole Adapter. Measured by myself for above Guide, no idea what their actual Specifications are, but both Speedboosters i own stay well Within 0,01mm Error, so i assume thats what their Specification is. An Gauge Block will btw. wring just as well to the Mounting Faces from the Metabones Speedbooster, as shown in above Video with my Spacer Plate, which i ground to the Same Specifications as i assume they use.
Now the Krontech MFT-Mount (can only speak for that Single unit i got sent, sample size: 1; no further Reference, i hope this one is for some reason just wildly out of Specification and all the Other ones are way better or something, but might be just as bad as this on the other ones) is out of Alignment by 0,151mm from a very quick check, which is just way too much for me, and certainly more than what i will accept for almost 400 USD for us Germans (including taxes and stuff, also Shipping).
Mounting Holes are also for some Reason too tight to fit the Standard M4 knurled Thumb-Screws i usually use for all my Adapter Plates on there (i assume the Included Screws work fine, but i need an Tool-Less Setup for the Mount Plates!), so i didnt even get to mount it to the Camera.
 .
Will send that Back unused, and just finish my own one, while i am At it, i might as well just finish this guide and make all Dimensions for my MFT-Adapter Public, once i am done, so People can build an Adapter with somewhat tighter Tolerances than this Krontech one i got here. I guess the Krontech one is still an MFT-Adapter if you just need one, but at the Moment i just cant recommend it, if you need Precision. Hope they get their stuff together and do their Homework regards Flatness (the Thing literally rocks back and fourth on a Flat surface...) and Alignment, or at least adjust the Price accordingly if they dont, cause the current Quality of product does just not match the Asking Price.

Received my 2 adapters last week and I am very pleased with them. Mounting holes are fine and setting up the back focus was no problem. Tested my both cameras with several lenses (they fit very well) and it worked without any problems.

For upscaling I use Video enhance AI from Topaz Labs. It works with a lot of formats (incl.TIFF) and the results are realy great.

Software Dev / V0.6.0 1.4 to 2.1 comparison
« on: July 17, 2021, 02:43:03 AM »
Little comparison between 1.4 and 2.1

Software V0.6.0
Pictures stored as .dng on a sunny day.

Whyle the 1.4 delivers  good results – aperture between 2.8 and 4.0, video level 75 to 80 IRE,
the 2.1 quality is only at full HD well.

The main problem is the poor video level. Even the picture is over exposure completely, the video level will be not more than half (50 IRE) at 800x450 and below.
The „Zebra“ function doesnt work below 1280x720 because the maximal video level ist o low.....

Hey guys!

Look at the slow-mo chemical reactions on my youtube channel :D

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuRl8Yq6SxY - Chronos 2.1, 1920x1080 1000FPS & 800x600 4352FPS, Samyang 24mm & 100mm macro.

Cool video! I think you are using the V0.6 firmware. Did you notice the "pink" color of the smoke at 4352 fps?

Chronos User Discussion / Re: 5" LCDVF adapted to the Chronos?
« on: April 09, 2021, 10:49:12 AM »
Looking at options to allow run and gun with the camera I came across this 5" LCD viewfinder for the Blackmagic PCC 4k and 6k that may fit the Chronos.

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1547095-REG/kinotehnik_lcdvfbm5_viewfinder_for_blackmagic_pocket.html

Wondering if the dimensions will fit the Chronos as it looks a bit too wide and if anyone has experience with it?

I did find an old thread with a Grid 5 viewfinder that had some success but doesn't look like an optimal solution as it needs modifications. https://forum.krontech.ca/index.php?topic=134.msg1123#msg1123

I believe this accessory if done well could be a killer part of the Chronos kit.   :o

Hi, I use the Kinotehnik viewfinder since last year. It works realy fine. A smal iron  frame is simply attached with adhesive tape to the black screen frame.
