Chronos User Discussion / Re: New 3350 mAh battery
« on: October 24, 2020, 11:51:56 PM »
Old topic, but i just managed to finally do a propper test on my Camera with an V-Mount Adapter and an 190Wh V-Mount Battery.
Got an uninterrupted runtime of 8 Hours 43 Min (recording the whole time) with the V-Mount converter feeding the Charger-Jack on the Chronos 2.1 with the Standard Battery inside, that came with the Camera.
Since the Battery inside the Camera will still power the camera even when the V-Mount is unplugged, meaning You can change out the V-Mount Batteries without powering the Camera itself down. So, if you have multiple V-Mount Batteries, you can achieve pretty impressive uninterrupted runtime if needed (One of those 190Wh V-Mount Batteries should provide a bit less then 8 Hours of Battery live). I now finally dont need to worry about running out of power with this one anymore  :) .

A realy good idea - thanks for this information  :)

You are right - YT made a great job  ;)
All in all I am very satisfied because the clips was stored in .mp4 and there is some room for improfement with DNG or TIFF

Nice upscaling test! I’ve been having great results with VEAI as well. I should have more up soon this week. Did you shoot DNG or MP4?

I shoot TIFF.
Did you work with DNG? So its necessary to convert it for VEAI, isn't it?

Shure, that a 14,8V V-mount akku will work? My 1.4 need at least 16V  ;)

Is that a samsung T5 SSD on the back?

No - an internal SSD in a Multiport USB3.0 + eSATAp casing - my T5 doesn't work at the multiport connector....

Looks super nice!
Btw what is the top plate /  you are using ? is it the:  SmallRig QR VersaFrame Half Cage (Middle) 2127
Like how it gives a little protection for the cables.
Trying to figure out how to rig my soon to arrive 2.1 HD
How are you finding it?

Thank you!

I did several experiments with cages - this on is a Niceyrig https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07G982TPT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but I changed both plates at 180 degree to get the 15mm rod behind the camera and not in front because it will be difficult to reach the aperture ring.

At this picture you'll see my actual setup

Chronos User Discussion / Selfmade sun hood
« on: July 09, 2020, 01:41:33 AM »
Hello,

I tried to build a sun hood for my chronos  Its made from Kydex - a acrylic-polyvinyl chloride composite engineered for thermoforming fabrication.
Its fixed at the cameras right side with a 1/4" srew and at the left side with a litte "nose" in the green AUX/IO connector.

so far I have run into three issues:
 - the "OK" button on the safely remove dialog can't be clicked (neither via the touchscreen, nor via click on the cogwheel)
 - I hear wierd noises (almost sounding like a fan) on the live video audio, even without  microphone being plugged in
 - I'm sofar unable to record audio – is there a special microphone needed? I tried a regular PC Headset without any amplification.

Hm, I cant find a problem in this dialog - in both windows (storage and play) it works well.
And I am also not able to record audio with the build in mic - there is only a loud hum in the clip.
It works for the SD Cards, but not for eSATA on my camera. I did not test USB.

Aha ok - I only tested it with SD Cards  ;)

A big thank you to the Chronos team.

Did some tests and the software works without problems. I like the new GUI it looks very well.
Only one point - some digits from the frame numbers/counter in the play-window are at high framerates out of the visible range.
Finaly an other question - is it possible to insert some new 16:9 resolution settings - for example 800x450, 576x322 and so on.

Thank you!

Hello, after a good talk with nikon1 I bulid my own MFT adaptor. for my 1.4. I used a 4mm aluminium plate and some parts from a MFT macro-ring. Over all costs around 35,- Euro.

It works realy well  ;D
