My trigger cable started misbehaving after the update to 0.5.1.

I disabled it completely and reset everything and it's fine now.

47
ahh at least it's a known problem :)

Is there likely to be a fix available in a future release?

I've twigged that this is probably a timezone issue. So how do I tell my Chronos it's not in British Columbia any more ? :)
Go into "util" menu, go to "Factory" Tab, Click into the "Clock" field and type in the time of your timezone, click "Save". Should change the time.

Thanks, but I can only seem to type in 'normal' date/time things in there.

I logged into the camera over SSH and /etc/localtime seems to be set to UTC and the date command gives me the correct time that I set on the UI, so maybe it's not timezone. Something else seems to be going on.

Thanks I'll give that a try. It seems to happen only when I have Analogue gain set above 12dB

My Chronos 2.1HD seems very bad at keeping time. I shot some footage yesterday (1st August) and noticed everything was date-stamped "yesterday" (as in 31st July), so I set the clock to the right time and date, and the clips I did after that were fine.

When I went out this afternoon (2nd August) my clips were date-stamped 1st August at 04:12(am) and onwards.

Is this normal?

I went down to the local lake today and managed to catch this duck diving and drying its wings. Very pleased with this:

DaVinci Resolve (free download from BlackMagic) can open the CinemaDNG folders that the Chronos creates, and you can edit them as video. It's not an easy piece of software to get the know if you're new to video editting but it is VERY powerful.

Things got a bit Tomatoey this morning:

Puree at 1000fps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6P3RQR1vFkk

Tomatoes (2 runs) in a blender at 2000fps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPtZBmRFbAU
(Skip to 9:35 for the second run, with cherry tomatoes)

The blender video is just asking for some music to be put to it, that might be my next project :)

Oddly it's not happening today. I'm sure I didn't dream it yesterday.

I'll keep an eye on it. It might have been a combination of resolution and gain settings.

I love slowmos of birds landing. I took some at 200fps with my GH5S and I'm hoping to get some even better things with my new Chronos :)

I just got my Chronos 2.1HD yesterday and am really impressed! I need to work it a little while to really get the hang of it, of course.

However it doesn't seem to like recording at widths less than 1024. If I select (eg) 800x600 then the display just goes black and nothing gets recorded. The same goes for 640x anything. It works for higher speeds if the width is 1024 or 1280 but I prefer more 'square' aspect rations than the long thin type.

Is this something you've seen, and can it be fixed?

Chrissie

]Thanks a lot!Maybe try holding it at the Lens, when using Big and Heavy lenses, usually helps with handling.I guess this was shot at f/2.8 and Gain 0?

You are correct, I'm not sure how much gain is reasonable yet.

HOWEVER (I failed to post this message last time, so this is an edit) I've since tried 24dB of analog gain and it's pretty impressive!

I'm still getting the hang of it, so they're all a bit flakey in one way our another at the moment. This was done hand-held at full res, sorry the focus isn't great at all times, but it's HEAVY with a Nikon 28-70 f2.8 lens on the front.

I just got my 2.1 today. Huge thanks to Krontech for providing me with a UK plug for the mains lead - it's the little things like that that make the difference - and DHL for getting it from Canada to Leeds in two days!!

This is my first attempt at filming so it's very basic (and not colour-graded, straight out of the camera). A guitar strum at 1500 fps
