Chronos User Discussion / Re: SSD Cage for Chronos 1.4/2.1-HD - 3D-printable

Can you check if the SSD device is detected in the USB/SATA storage window on the Util > Storage page? If yes, press the Format Disk button to format the SSD drive to FAT32 file system. If you require any further assistance, please contact [email protected]

Software Dev / Re: Software support for alternate trigger modes

That being said, our sales and marketing team recently ordered a Miops Smart+ trigger: https://www.miops.com/ to see how we could get it to easily and reliably serve those extra triggering purposes, so please stay tuned for some information on how to use this with a Chronos.

Any update on this?

We have already tested the MIOPs triggers and the audio trigger along with several other trigger options can be performed through the accessory device. Unfortunately, due to the limited resources, our team will not be pursuing the alternate trigger modes and have therefore removed them from the Datasheet. If you are interested in a specific trigger mode, I would be happy to explore some options with you. Feel free to contact [email protected] for further assistance.

Chronos User Discussion / Re: How to synchronise two 2.1 Chronos?
« on: July 06, 2021, 04:58:37 PM »
We have been seeing more demand for triggering and synchronizing multiple Chronos cameras lately, so we decided to release a "How To" tutorial.

This tutorial will outline three different ways to trigger multiple Chronos cameras:

1- Trigger multiple cameras using a trigger switch cable.
2- Trigger and synchronize multiple cameras simultaneously using a Transmitter/Receiver camera.
3- Synchronize shutters on multiple cameras using an external signal source.

Note: these approaches can be used if you have a Chronos 1.4 and 2.1 camera in a setup.

Jesus! After testing more with the camera, same thing happened again! Starting possible, ending not.

After reinstallation of the OS everything fine again! @nikon1: Did you ever really work with the trigger-IOs?

Thanks! Martin

I am quite late to the discussion, my apologies for that. But here are few suggestions for the next time you run into a triggering issue:

1- Confirm the Post-trigger values in the Record Settings > Trigger Delay values are set to zero to prevent any delays when stopping a recording. In case the triggers do not work as expected, confirm trigger delays are correctly configured.

2- Try resetting all trigger settings to default through the web interface, before selecting new settings. You can follow the steps in this video to do so: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XFY_nbaKKQ6fjOXx__c-8174lve2eKCB/view?usp=sharing

Software Dev / Re: Will there ever be a 100,000 FPS version again?
« on: June 07, 2021, 03:37:22 PM »
I am just curious if there are any plans to integrate the 100k FPS option back into the 1.4. I know it wasn't that pretty but it was still quite cool to have this option.

I got so many people asking for that. Meanwhile I can't even find the old build with that option in it. That's really sad. :(

Thank you for sharing your concerns about the 100K FPS. Unfortunately, we have decided to take that software build away, since the footage recorded at such resolution was not displaying useful image data. We will not be bringing this feature back to Chronos 1.4/2.1 cameras but will keep this frame rate in mind for future designs.

Chronos User Discussion / Re: Never-ending save
« on: June 02, 2021, 03:32:47 PM »
We have recently discovered this software bug with (Where the footage is stuck in an endless saving loop) the video encoder when saving video as H.264 at high framerates. Our team is currently working on resolving this issue in the new software updates. In the meantime, I would suggest saving your footage with CinemaDNG, TIFF, or other raw formats as a workaround.

Thank you for testing through the web interface. I will try to dig into the problem once I am at the facility. Did you connect to the web interface through Ethernet port previously at the specified location?

Yes, the IP should normally stay the same.

Thank you Nikon1 for your immediate reply!

I will try to reproduce this freezing issue in our facility and report it to the development team to look into a possible solution. I will keep you posted when I have any updates.

I have already contacted you many times, sent you photos and videos, but there is no answer to what I should do in this situation. This problem was on the old and new firmware

Thank you Sergey and Nikon1 for bringing this issue to our attention!

Unfortunately, we have not experienced this issue with our external monitors, and would need some time to investigate it. Could you share the following information with us, so we can look reproduce this issue in our facility:

  • What external monitor model do you use?
  • Does the Chronos camera freeze every time you plug in HDMI? If not, how often does the camera freeze?
  • Are you able to control the camera through the web interface when the camera freezes?  Or the only way to gain control is through rebooting the camera?

Software Dev / Re: Chronos API Documentation
« on: May 26, 2021, 12:49:25 PM »
I am having a similar issue with the Chronos API. How did you fix that?! I have tried a lot of methods that I found on the internet, and a lot of youtube tutorials, however nothing works out. I do not understand why is it happening like that, maybe it is an issue with my computer or something like that. The thing is that, when I am trying to use https://clickhelp.com/ online documentation servers, everything works perfectly, that is exactly why I think that something is wrong with  Chronos API Documentation.

I am trying to understand what issue you are currently experiencing with your Chronos camera, so that our team can better assist you. If you would like, you can contact us through [email protected] to work with you towards resolving your issue. Thanks! :)
