Speed boost to 38k fps?
« on: December 21, 2017, 01:57:59 PM »
Hey!
Is the speed boost already implemented as mentioned in the Kickstarter campain?
Quote from: Kickstarter
Chronos 1.4 is getting a speed boost to 38,565 fps at 336x96!
The default FPS options does not include these settings on my camera. I know somewhere in this forum it was mentioned that a file on the OS-SD card can be changed to include other options, but I cant find that post at the moment. Would my camera be able to record at 28k FPS if I were to change that file?

Yes, if you set a lower resolution you can go up to this FPS (and I'm sure as I tested it just to see the obscene level of light it needs...) ;)

You don't need to change the file to go to this FPS, but you can if you want to put this FPS as an option in the list of course.

I've been able to successfully take images at 38,565 fps by reducing the field of view to 336 x 96 pixels, then pressing the 'Max' button to select framerate.  I'm driving the shutter gate from an external signal, which I set very slightly slower (38,560 fps) to avoid dropping frames. It works great!
