"Expose to the right" is your friend. In photography this means exposing your subject as bright as possible without blowing out the whites and then darkening it in post processing. It will let you crush the blacks to 0 while keeping detail in your subject. Unfortunately the only way to practically do this with video is with an absurd amount of light >_<

Here is some footage I took last Summer of dragonflies at 1500 fps. I was pretty happy with the performance then, but the firmware updates since then have improved the quality even more.

Don't Sub (temporary post to this channel will move later and modify this post)
Approx 4:30-4:40 for initial explosion followed by slowmo then close up

Yes I know "learn how to shoot" I was sighted in for 600ish yards shooting at something 80 yards away :)

The DNG output and white balance fix make it way easier to get clear shots now.

I think that might be a dummy ice cube.
Great footage BTW!

That's awesome! But why do the jaws of the bot rotate at the end? It does not seem to be necessary for the throwing.

I think it is to give some Spin to the Cube.
If it where Flying Straight only, it might not look as interresting.

Yes, some spin to the cube is better :)

We built a "rototator", it 's some bars on ball bearing.

Another cool fail :)
