Chronos 1.4 Footage Thread

Yesterday I managed to set up my camera and do some test shots. Unfortunately it way late evening, so I needed something that was bright enough to be seen at all.

So I filmed my TV screen... and old CRT TV set:

Getting to shoot the Hurley Pro in San Clemente
loving the camera
the screen is super dim for focusing in bright light, focus peaking is decent but need the HDMI out in next firmware to hook up an eyepiece for outdoor action shooting
having to find shade and hide under a towel to see what I'm doing
the camera has locked up on me probably 4-5 times in shooting all day every day this week, needing a restart
it would be great to have a kelvin temp selector for setting white balance if you don't have a white card
would also be good to be able to save settings for things like focus peaking color and intensity
just read the forum on how to change frame rates going to try that tomorrow

Camera arrived yesterday.  I took a trip to Microcenter and got a 256 gig SD.  Didn't have much time (or interesting subjects) to film.  Turned the camera toward some bubbling fry oil in the kitchen and this is what I got: https://youtu.be/qeZXKtkyRRc Was kind of surprised by just how shallow the field depth was at f/0.95. I could only cleanly focus on about 1/3 of the pot from about 3 feet away.

Here is a test video lighting of a e-match

The footage was shot at 800 x 600 at 2,873 frames per second with a shutter speed of 89 usec or about 1/11,000 sec.  The e-match had a resistance of 1.227 ohms measured with a milliohm-meter.  The red LED is in parallel with the e-match so the current starts flowing in the e-match when the LED lights.  There is immediate reaction but the pyrogen doesn't start burning for about 0.1 second later.

The objects were illuminated with home built LED lights using a constant current source.

We film usually couple videos per week with the Chronos but I really like this video that we filmed couple days ago

We filled up some "balloons" with non newtonian fluid and shot them with the crossbow. I think I used something like 3000 fps on most of the shots.

Wow, fantastic video. You can see where the NNF goes from behaving like a solid back to behaving like a liquid, going from sharp edges to rounded fluid shapes.
