Chronos 1.4 Footage Thread

We film usually couple videos per week with the Chronos but I really like this video that we filmed couple days ago

We filled up some "balloons" with non newtonian fluid and shot them with the crossbow. I think I used something like 3000 fps on most of the shots.

I finally have a way to quickly aim and follow targets using a $40 Amazon gun sight, now I just need to find a way to quickly pull focus.

All the clips were shot with a 400mm lens (effective 1560mm) at ~f8-f11 and 6db gain on the camera.

Something like that might work, I was thinking of making something that looks like a rifle stock that lets me support, aim and trigger the camera with one hand and use the other for focusing only. Having a handle on the focus ring would definitely make it easier to hit the same mark repeatedly, thanks!

Our forst couple of hours running around shooting anything that we could find that moved fast. LOL. Its funny, once you get to 1000 FPS its kinda hard to find something compelling to shoot.

As we are a firearms marketing firm ,expect more of that soon!

For now we wanted to get some time with the 1.4 and get sued to how it handles light and setting up shots,  working with the firmware and just general use and setup/teardown. So here is a nice relaxing slowmo vid comprised of local Prince Edward County Ontario attractions.

It was on a German "outdoor" shooting range, so basically indoors... low light conditions. Still don't have constant light sources to illuminate the scene.

There are colored lines visible some times. I know this can happen when the memory is cold, but it was about 16 °C, which I wouldn't consider cold. Is there any way to prevent this? I plan to do some more filming in early January, and don't want all of the footage to show these lines.

Also I got trouble with focusing. It seems like the adaptor ring doesn't have a good hard stop, and the backfocus needs to be set depending on the torque that was applied when mounting the lens. I still store the camera in its shipping box, because this is very well stuffed, but that means I need to take off the lens for storing.

Any ideas on how to get this fixed?

The cold temperature RAM issue will be completely fixed in the next update. We're just testing this update right now before releasing it, expect it in a week or so assuming no problems are found. We've tested the camera down to -20C and there is no issue at all with the new software.

To avoid taking off the lens, cut out a portion of the box foam so you can store the camera without taking off the lens. Also, check that you tighten the backfocus lock setscrew enough, if it's not tight the ring will spin and change backfocus when you screw the lens in hard.
