Chronos 1.4 Footage Thread
« on: June 15, 2017, 02:30:01 PM »
Hi guys and girls!

I thought it would be a good idea to have a main thread for people to post their footage in.
So whether it's a piece filmed for a YouTube video, or just some test footage, post a link below and let's marvel at the Chronos footage.

Also as jefish said below, please put 'Chronos 1.4' in your title and tags on YouTube. It will help for those who are search for footage!

Peoples Channels (Forum name if available):

Please DM me if I haven't added you yet, I'll update as I go along and see them!

Also, please put 'chronos 1.4' or at least 'chronos' in your Youtube descriptions, if you happen to think about it.

I know there must be more videos out there by now, but they're not showing up in search results.

Exact same thing I've been doing every day, not much new even though there are units out now.
I'll add that to the original post :)

Played around with water at high speed on a spoon - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbFU8gZ6P9g&feature=youtu.be
Anyone else get this line? Mainly in areas of lower exposure and I think on resolutions under 720p.

You need to do a black cal each time you change the resolution, and it helps (i've found) to do it after the camera has warmed up a little

Here's another couple of videos taken with a monochrome camera (I think we took the IR filter off as well):

I did a black cal yeah, it seems to be directly on sensor, as when I move the recording 'Area', around the line moves accordingly, as well as some other spots similar to it.

At 720p the picture seems fine, but at lower resolutions the lines appear as seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIRFr4rGwM0
They do not display on lighter pixels, but do in shadow / midtones.
I did a black cal multiple times, restarted etc, still there.
Is it a sensor problem, user error or software?

The Line that shows up at lower resolutions is a current software issue and is high on the debug list. I will update this message when I have more info on the issue.

I am guessing it seems to move up and down when you change the shutter timing as well?

I haven't seen any steady lines like those shown above but occasionally I have seen light/dark bands that will move vertically as the exposure time is adjusted. I'm not sure if they are associated with any particular resolution or frame rate but I'll see if I can reproduce it.

How about some electrical arcs crawling across and through wood:

Nice gifs dude! I want to make one of those but scared I'll shock myself to death. Want someone who knows what they are doing to make me one lol.
Anyway here is a video of what's going on guys - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7jFQWE8b28&feature=youtu.be

In the first part I just lower the aperture to make the lines more visible, there is one permanent dark line, one lighter line, and then the bugged shutter line.
After the text, I am simply moving the shutter to show the moving line bug.
Help? It sort of makes lower resolutions unusable currently.
