D Tap cable for power?
« on: June 16, 2024, 06:31:04 PM »
I'm looking to find a solution to power the 2.1 off of a v mount or gold mount battery. I saw some discussion of using a smallrig dtap cable with a regulator for 19.5v but when I got the cable that thread talked about the DC connector end was the incorrect size. So I'm looking to see how what other options I have for alternative power option that works with my gold mount batteries.

I wonder if something like this would work. It looks like the correct spec but would defiantly need further investigation before I plugged it into my Camera !
The advancement of Camera Lights is really advanced. The information in the video is really surprising. It is version 2.1 but it is still really modern today.

To power a device requiring 19.5V from a V-mount or Gold-mount battery, you need to use a regulated D-Tap to DC output cable or a dedicated voltage regulator that steps down or steps up the voltage from your battery to the required 19.5V
